Modern Warfare 2 on XBL is starting to suck

I recently have been playing modern warfare 2 and while i have something to play, i find myself not being very enthused with it. it is the overpowered shotguns, the glitches, and lagging.
i also do not like the other users on xbox live. for every good gaming partner i find, there are at least twenty squeaky voiced chattering infants who treat the game lobby as their own private masturbation session. i can live with the other stuff, because that is fixable by the developer, but i wish that xbox live users would grow up. i want to play some modern warfare and i dont want somebody singing in my ear.

i also dont like those who take advantage of glitches like the javelin glitch, the care package sprint, and the plethora of other things out there.

am i being overly critical?

edit: i think that they should not include a mike with every xbox 360

I hope that it wasn't an elitest joke.(I get tired of them) If not, only a few games that has the Wi-Fi connect logo has online play.

I've been playing MW2 a ton for the past 3 weeks on PS3, and there's rarely people using mics, let alone little twats. Occasionally someone's got music playing or whatever but generally if I'm not using a mic I just mute everyone else anyway. Mute is your friend.

Also, MW2 is awesomely fun online. If you don't like it, fine, but it doesn't "suck" and it's not "crap".

On the rare occasion that I play online (usually after a number of alcoholic drinks, and I don't play MW2) I mute my own headset and listen to hear everyone else talk first and decide whether or not communicating with the other players would be beneficial. About 95% of the time it is NOT beneficial so I end up just keeping the mute on and taking the headset off.

Puh-lease, it was entertaining for a while and then I got distracted by WoW again. And when I tried going back to MW2? Everyone's clicked with their little 'perfect combos' and it's fucking impossible.

I actually quite enjoy the game. I've came across one instance of everyone on the map zipping around like they're on ice and that's about it.

Meh, it's Live, it's infamous for it's hordes of annoying eight year olds. Quite a few of said glitches have been patched though, but you're not being overly critical, I still don't get the 'is starting too' part. MW2 has fallen short in every aspect.

Since everyone and their mom hates on the LIVE user base let me just say that I think it's more about the game you choose to play.

I play Borderlands, Gears of War, Left 4 Dead online and rarely do I ever run into the kind of douchebags you guys keep talking about, though I bet that would change if I were to throw in Halo or MW.

True. but you can still run into assholes now and again. Thankfully, most of the jackasses on PC shooters are either playing counterstrike or Unreal Tournament.

And most of the Team Fortress asshats play Fortress Forever, because they don't like to move on with the times.

You sound like you're new to the whole XBox Live thing. This has been the case ever since Halo set the precedent for all other shooters to follow. And you're absolutely right, mics should only be available for paying adults - or children whose voices are tolerable for their parents to agree to unleash them upon the world.

i have been on xbl for 5 years, it was only recently that i started playing regularly

It's probably worse right now because MW2 is the most popular FPS title right now so all of the kids who got it for Christmas are still hooked on it. XBLA is full of obnoxiosu brats, but they have short attention spans and tend to focus themselves around the killer app of the month.

But yeah, you're right. Instead of taking away the mics, they should have a thing that measures pitch of voice. If someone's voice is higher than a certain amount, they can't talk online, and thus, less kids. It's discrimination, but hell, it could work.

This is genius! Microsoft need to get working on this XBL patch immediatly.

I tend to just mute everyone who speaks. half the time i dont even bother finding my headset, since i get nothing useful in my ear. I once played halo 2 online and the people were useful. We made a good team with 3 guys id never even spoken to before. Its a shame this doesnt happen more often.

This is why I'm excited that PC developers have started eschewing a long tradition of dedicated servers that more or less contained this problem in favor of implementing proprietary worse versions of Xbox Live.

The hard to miss glitches have been fixed, such as the Care Package and Javelin glitches, but the game is so poorly made and easily exploitable it's quite depressing for people that want to play it properly.

It seems to cater towards the morons and bitches in the game, M203 not annoying enough? OK let's add the Thumper, RPG and AT4, plus the Scavenger perk, oh and Akimbo to piss even more people off.

Seriously, I love playing it but most of this shit occurs on an extremely regular basis, if it wasn't for my mates playing it too, I don't think I'd still have the game.

Yea, they need to nerf the grenade launcher, remove the thumper, and make akimbo only for pistols. Im mostly fine with the RPG and AT4 since not as many people use them. But I always get into a match where someone spams grenade launcher or Akimbo.

Now that they've fixed most of the glitches, I've started playing MW2 again but I don't plug my mic in unless I'm playing with people I know. Once someone found out I was black on XBL and I heard the most offensive racial slurs that I had seen outside of [website removed].
