but personally i'd get it on PS3.
Well, I would say you stole the words out of my mouth. However, this all depends, if your a frequent PC gamer, MW2 will seem lacking to other shooters on PC, however, if your a Console gamer, you probably won't notice. I say get it on PS3, that way we can play together sometime ;)

Ok, basically I have got some cash to burn and after looking at some youtube vids, it seems mw2 looks quite good (Well I already knew that, but you get ma drift) Basically it is £30 on amazon at the moment (which is $45) and I am stumped to whether or not I should get it. I will either get it on PC or PS3 (Because my 360 died on me :( ) so what I am asking is:

Is it worth £30?
Should I get it for PC or Ps3?

EDIT: I am a fan of being able to solo kill anything like a one man shooting machine :D
Well, if you like a Coherent story and writing that was'nt over blown in how good it was, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 isnt for you. If your one of those people who just like to kill things with no imagination or caring for why the hell your shooting the things in the first place, or a fan of multiplayer (AKA the same type of person except you like to shoot shit with others), than get it, especially at 30 EU.
It's worth mentioning that I'm pretty sure the story is ironic...as in, it's supposed to be that stupid. I found it hilarious, myself.
Nooooo...that only would have been funny if they marketed the game as such. But they did'nt. They made it out to be something completely straight faced and quote unqoute "realistic." As such, the story must be looked at as such. I don't know about you, but I don't find Russia invading the US because of some martyred arm's dealer that no one ever heard (or at least was never mentioned being known to the general populace) of dying and being pissed. I see that as shody writing, that's neither serious or humourus, and just illustrates how much pot the writers were smoking when making the writing for Modern Warfare 2, despite doing a rather excellent job in in the first one.
They marketed the GAMEPLAY as realistic ('cause it totally is, right?). I don't think anyone ever suggested the campaign's story--which is kind an afterthought--was realistic.
When a game's GAMEPLAY is marketed as "realistic" and "modern" and "warfare", and "2", it's heavily implied that the story would follow suit and is generally imbedded into the public brain as such. Hence why the writing is mediocrity wrapped in a unoriginal flour tortilla, served in a taco platter of bad.

It's worth it. As for which one to get, do you want to play not on-line co-op?

I suggest Bad Company 2. You say you like being a one man killing machine but I've heard that before, and those same people still like Bad Company Two more. That and (mostly) free DLC if you buy it new. I personally like BC2 and as do many of the reviewers I've seen.

Ps3 is pretty much unhackble so i think you should get that one if you don't want the haxxors.

and ya i'm not sure if you presonnally should get it but unless your really like "oh it's cool and sold 7 bagillion copies so it must suck" then i say buy it. but it will probably be cheap eventually.

I say that, despite the horrible, horrible matchmaking UI and stuff like that, it is still an extremely good game.

I say you should get it for PS3 if you like FPSs on consoles, because the game was designed for consoles. If you are like me, and can't use a PS3 controller for FPSs without embarrasing yourself, get it for PC.

Shooters are just so much better on PC IMO. Get it for PC. It works fine, and so does the multiplayer on PC, regardless of people's (somewhat biased (as is mine, I guess)) opinions.

Why is the PC version bad? Just wondering.
OP: Ehhhh. I dunno. The first Modern Warfare was amazing and it kept me entertained for almost half a year of constant playing. Modern Warfare 2...about a week, probably less. It's not for some people.

First: Get it for Pc, lot less buggy than the console versions.

Second: Spec Ops is great, Singleplayer isn't as good as in the prequel, but still better than almost anything else the genre has to offer;
Multiplayer is fine, battles are a bit low on scale, but if you want to be able to make a difference alone, even in team-games, you've come the right place.

I would say wait till Splinter Cell Conviction comes out and get that on PC, but I know when you have cash to burn and you want to get something right away, so sure, go ahead

NO NO NO NO NO etc

I hate this game more than any game I have ever hated. The unbalance, the awful maps, the broken perks, everything about it is awful.

I wholeheartedly recommend COD4 over it. Everything about it is superior.

it is a good game, but the story is realy short. the only thing that has me comming back is the multiplayer and even that has major flaws.

if you want my opinion try MAG and go a heavy gunner, everything you look at dies :D

an alternative would be battlefield bad company 2, i have not played it yet but i have heard good things about it

So many people own this game you could probably just borrow it off someone and make your own opinion of it.

I think it's a fun game though, frustrating at times, but good craic, especially when played with friends.

I'd suggest Bioshock 2.

Why? The only multiplayer with a story.

But, if you don't like that, then yeah, MW2 is a good buy. On PS3, because on the PC everyone's hacking (or so I have read). The campaign is short and confusing but polished and exciting, spec-ops are fun until your friends fixate on one level they must do all the time, and multiplayer is enjoyable and extremely replayable, IF you can stand getting spawnkilled at least 3 times a game, and up to 20 times a game.

So it's a good game, but it's played by dickhorses. I'd say get it, because it's fun if you destroy at FPSs.

If you like being the one man killing machine, as you stated in your post, then go for it. I find that CoD games mainly focus on the lone wolf play style anyway. The game isn't perfect (as you can probably tell from the other comments) but it's far from what some people make it out to be.

Plus when you have both MW2 and BF:BC2 you can switch between the two and never be bored!

Rent it to play through the single player (which I enjoyed, you just gotta go with it) and give the MP a go.
I prefer the MP from MW1 by a fair margin, although I am stuck playing MW2 because my brother has the ps3 with MW1 while I have the xbox with MW2 atm (despite all of it being mine, arrrgh, damn parents and their upbringing of sharing is good).

It was really good for the PS3. If you're looking for a game with a good community, it isn't the game for you. If you're looking for a fun shooter then I'd definitely recommend it. I haven't tried it for the comp.

no the pc version is soooo wounderfully made especially for the pc, and its loaded with so many pc exclusive features it will blow your mind, hence why there arnt many people playing it on the pc, there minds have been blown out the backs of their heads... lol but on a serious note the pc version is such a badly made port with matchmaking system, i say why get a console made game for the pc? your not going to enjoy it compared to a propper pc game like bad company 2 despite its flaws. So get it on the console.
