I would expect that the player is going to be fighting to PROTECT the city. Not actively taking part in its destruction, how is that a bad thing?

That imagery definitely cuts deep; and it is well done.

So wait, it's okay to depict a different state manor in flames and ruin, so long as it's not the good ol' USA? And what about Fallout 3?

Ugh, I hate the people in my country sometimes

Honestly I hate this sort of hypocrisy. It's okay to slaughter Spaniards in RE4 but you start shooting Africans in RE5 and you're all a bunch of racists. You start blowing up Las Vegas, it's all in good fun. Turn your attention to DC and you're just going to far! Seriously if that had an actual credible name on the lable I'd be more interested but once I read "Christian Science" my mind blanks out and I just go on with my day.

Too far? No, people just want to censor any and all media they don't like.

Hits a little close to home? Ever read "Sum of All Fears" by Tom Clancy? Old book, similar results to DC.

People need to grow some thicker skin.
there was even a movie based on the book and nobody cried then either

So its all fun and games if we get to kill people in iraq, errr I mean some unnamed country in the middle east, but when the action comes to your door step then the fun stops? I think this is a cool twist (although I wish they kept it as a hidden plot twist) but it is cool to be able to see DC up in flames and have the US be the underdog for once.

Yeah, there's never been a game with such wanton destruction of American cities.

ummm... H.A.W.X. End War, Red Alert 2, Fallout 3...
They all destroyed D.C.

But! Movies are o.k.;
just look at Independence Day

The Christian Science Monitor is a bunch
of jerks who just don't give a hunch
about anyone who has a brain.
this fact, it is plain.

Ironically the fictional victim's message of "perhaps you cannot hear because the soil is not your own" is 100% with this guy.

Moron.

When it's Iraq being blown to shit, that's ok. But you drop a missile on America and you've gone to far? Utter shite.

I've gotta agree with the Germans here: they've seen Berlin burned, exploded, downtrodden and otherwise mistreated in dozens of games (COD World at War among them). As an American, this doesn't upset me much: games are about living in a fantasy, and this fantasy of a devastated DC is entirely plausible. The concept is much less important than how it's handled, and in COD's case, that could either mean a gunwank or a studied depiction of the horrors of war. Where everyone uses "hoo-ah" as a comma.

I am not a american, but if he can complante about his than hell everyone could complain for 10 years back (or more).

Guys, guys, can't you see that it's completely wrong to show Americans being killed on American soil? I mean, it's not a foreign country, those are human beings we're talking about!

Wait a minute. What purpose does "The Christian Science Monitor" have? How self-centered do you have to be to think that YOUR OWN RELIGION needs to have science served in an easier to understand format?
