Yippee, a reveal in June means that we'll have 5 months of people of both sides saying either "MW3 is gonna be da best game eva!" or "MW3 is going to suck assballs"

No matter what group is right, Activision will make lots of lots of money.

And chances are when it comes out, it'll break some sort of record

That's ONE way of looking at it.

Another is: Startling satire about America's policy of sticking it's nose in other people's business, followed by a tragic look at how badly shit can hit the fan, and result in Another country losing half of it's population over America's folly.

Add in some plausible back-story to make a believable and mostly waterproof antagonist, one of the best Stealth missions of any non-Stealth game and end with a bittersweet crescendo (Before MW2 ret-conned everything, Cptn Price was dead for all we knew, and Soap was practically Comatose. and ofcourse everyone else was Dead.)..... and you get a plot that is more Subtle and intelligent than many, MANY "Story driven" RPGs even.
I do agree about how the game demonstrates America's need to control the middle east, and then back-firing the entire operation.

I think this story would have been best described in a novel, shame though. I might have to work on it myself, *im a writer* if you didn't know.
If I were a writer penning a book based on a near-futuristic fictional War (or even if the War is just backstory) I would definitely use the "American invasion leading to militant extremists committing Nuclear Suicide" plot device. Yeah, a lot of people will know that CoD4 did it first, but they will also know that MW2 stomped that hugely potent plot into the curb, and failed to explore the legitimately interesting Ramifications of said fictional event.

So if you wanted to write a book about it, just DO it; But make sure the plot is more coherent than MW2 (not a "difficult" feat, in any way). I know I'd read that.

WAY better games coming out in the last quarter (and next Q1) anyway.
I'm not a COD basher or a genre warrior, but I am simply burnt out with the series. Too much of the same. If BF3 lives up to the hype it'll be a shooter that will satiate me for the next few years - if it is anything like BF2.

I'm more interested in Rage.

90% of the people saying they will never buy it will most likely have it preordered
