Mods that have surpassed the real game

Have anyone else played a mod for a game that's better in pretty much every way? If so, list them here and say why.

My personal choice is Project Reality (realitymod.com), a BF2 mod that makes the game ultra-realistic. With this comes squads that actually work together, squad leaders that seem like they are all ex-military, and a truly exhilarating game experience. When you're under fire, you go for cover as soon as you can, and when you're pinned, it's actually scary.

The world famous WC3 mod, DotA!!! Personally, i suck at normal WC3, and just focusing on the hero vs Hero combat is fun. It also has better and a larger amount of items and heroes u can play as in the game.

median mod for diablo 2, besides being extremely unbalanced in terms of pvp, it is loads of fun to play alone or coop, its actualy difficult unlike original

Team Fortress.

Now there's a mod and a half, even TFC and TF2 only refined the formula.

BF Desert Combat.

Basically the design document for BF2.

Garrysmod. It has transcended HL2 by allowing the player, with enough skill, to do ANYTHING.

I quite like DOTA is just that if you miss one new version of the game it's a ***** to get the latest one because you just get kicked automatically.
Personaly i like footman wars and WWZ for WC3 map mods which are easily more fun the traditional versus

Hahaha no. Both are equal. One is one of the best single player shooters, the other is one of the best multiplayer ones.

I don't really get how people can compare CS and HL, or HL2 and GMod, but whatever.

I'd vote for Natural-Selection being better than CS (NS let you mod from CS or HL1).

Ever tried getdota.com? takes like 30 sec to get the latest map. Thats usually what people yell whenever someone doesn't have the latest map.

anyways, DotA is awesome.
