Mods that have surpassed the real game

The world famous WC3 mod, DotA!!! Personally, i suck at normal WC3, and just focusing on the hero vs Hero combat is fun. It also has better and a larger amount of items and heroes u can play as in the game.

I quite like DOTA is just that if you miss one new version of the game it's a ***** to get the latest one because you just get kicked automatically.
Personaly i like footman wars and WWZ for WC3 map mods which are easily more fun the traditional versus

Ever tried getdota.com? takes like 30 sec to get the latest map. Thats usually what people yell whenever someone doesn't have the latest map.

anyways, DotA is awesome.

median mod for diablo 2, besides being extremely unbalanced in terms of pvp, it is loads of fun to play alone or coop, its actualy difficult unlike original

You're welcome, suprissed you didn't know about it already, whenever theres a new map i hear people tell DL'ers to go to that site in almost every game i join.

next patch introduces 2 new heroes... can't wait

Just google search getdota and download to your downloaded maps folder manually.

I don't think it's valid or fair to compare mods that are completely different games than the original.

Example: Half-Life and Counter Strike. These a widely different types of games.
Half-Life remains one of my favourite single player FPS games.
Counter-Strike is one of the longest lasting online FPS experiences.
Both are great, so why can't they be considered separately in their own right?

You might personally like a mod better than the game, though tell that to someone
who loves the game much more and it might get ugly.
