Notch lives in Sweden. Probably already April 1st where he lives.Brainst0rm said:It's not April 1st, guys. Seriously. NOT April 1st.
Guess I need to be skeptical of every article I read both on April 1st and the days adjacent to it. Excellent.

We always need more hats. I find the prices to be ridiculous and I SO hope this is a joke.Veloxe said:I think it needs more hats, it doesn't have enough hats!
Excuse me, but from the looks of this, Notch made it based off of Team Fortress 2's shop (hence the "Steve Co." gag on "Mann Co.". I wouldn't say he's the first.Andy Chalk said:The concept of a "Company Store" selling low-priced virtual novelty items for use in a videogame is certainly a fresh one and I think Notch and the rest of the team at Valve [http://www.mojang.com/], who just don't have what it takes to come up with this kind of original idea. Good job, Notch!
Notch lives in a different time zone....Irridium said:Also, isn't it the 31st? April Fool's is tomorrow. Unless my calendar is playing a joke on me.
So which is it op, are you being serious or sarcastic?Andy Chalk said:The concept of a "Company Store" selling low-priced virtual novelty items for use in a videogame is certainly a fresh one and I think Notch and the rest of the team at Valve [http://www.mojang.com/], who just don't have what it takes to come up with this kind of original idea. Blizzard totally hasn't been doing this since D2 daysThe concept of a "Company Store" selling low-priced virtual novelty items for use in a videogame is certainly a fresh one and I think Notch and the rest of the team at Mojang deserve credit for pioneering this new and unique approach to customer service. Innovations like this are precisely why I like to support indie developers over bloated corporate machines like Valve, who just don't have what it takes to come up with this kind of original idea. Good job, Notch!
A time zone in which its still March 31st.Rainboq said:Notch lives in a different time zone....Irridium said:Also, isn't it the 31st? April Fool's is tomorrow. Unless my calendar is playing a joke on me.

Sweden, GMT +6, so about 11:47 PM as of right now.
If you're fairly sure it's a joke, click the buy button. Or put $10000 worth of items in your cart.Lancer873 said:A nice little idea that serves as a midpoint between the non-functional aesthetic purchase feature and the balance-shattering gameplay purchase feature. From the sound of the names, they probably don't serve any direct purpose in-game, but they do serve to just be fun little trinkets (Riding around on a creeper? Sounds neat.)
Of course, there's also the chance this is just a joke, especially given how ludicrous some of the prices are and how silly some of the items seem. 99 dollars for a name change is the biggest indicator, considering 15 dollars could just buy you a new copy of the game under a different name.
Edit: After looking around a bit more, I'm fairly certain this is just a joke. Notice the 5-pack of keys costs as much as 6 keys would. The "response from support" is a crack at the number of people who complain because when they submit a bug report, Mojang rarely ever sends a response (they usually get to work on it instead of wasting time writing a response to the several million reports they receive every week)
