The only people who ***** about Notch taking too long or taking 'too many' holidays, are the self-entitled pricks who think that owning the game gives them a right to demand what goes in it and when.
Well I do agree in a sense and do not think people should be getting worked up like this. However I do not think people are exactly being entitled pricks when they have an expectation for content.

The game has basically generated 60 45 million dollars so far and the game is per the developers point of view unfinished. Its reasonable people would question paying for a game with the promise the game will be finished, and yield the developer enough money to support hiring the manpower to complete the initial development of the game. But when you dont see a decrease of overall output and sparing addition of new staff it certainly raises eyebrows.

So when they see no mass of new hires to take on the work, and see the lead developer also handling PR junkets and trying to grow the brand by expanding the game to Xbox, Iphone, PSP, and any other platform or taking a weekend off to develop a mini game..... All before finishing development of the original core of the game, it is unrealistic to expect people to sit by and not say "Hey now, whats going on here!?!"

Yes people should relax, but honestly between what Notch does with his time, based on how much money his yet unfulfilled promise has generated it is understandable to question it, and impossible to not have some degree of expectations.

...Since when has there ever been anything about Mojang running on Valve Time? o_O this is the first I have ever heard anyone complain of this...

Besides, MineCraft is playable, even though its in development. So long as that stays the same, I don't mind if they keep developing and adding stuff to the game for all eternity :p
Same here dude as far as i'am concerned if they wanna keep adding a bunch of free stuff let em.

I think the main beef the community has with notch is the sheer inconvenience notch's updates cause.

Quite frankly, the modding community for minecraft have made it a whole new game. This consent slew of mods is what keeps sandbox driven games like G-mod alive, and its no different for minecraft. The game gets boring at some point for most people, and a fresh gameplay mechanic changes that.

Notch however puts out updates inconsistently, that are by no means BAD but compared to such mods offered by the community aren't worth his updates breaking all the mods every single time. Even IF notched put out unbroken masterpieces, one masterpiece is not worth a shitton of good mods breaking.

After typing this I've realized its been quite awhile since I've played mincraft. Perhaps his updates don't break mods now? I doubt it, however.
No offense, but I think that could be expected when you're modding a game that's still in development.

Do not abuse the bold function, it makes reading a pain. Otherwise, refer to the data which shows how much time Notch is taking off.

It's not exactly a blazing production schedule but he's only one man, scaling up to produce something quickly would be a bad move.

Neither did minecraft. The guy released a fully finished game and say hey look buy this while its still in beta. Then he has slowly tweaked it since then. It was really a great business idea since it was the perfect excuse to release a half assed game.
O he started early then Beta, you could buy it back in Alpha (in fact i did)
