Try every day of my last year of Secondary school. I was not bullied as I was taller than most with more muscle than most but I was basicly invisable (which I liked as I was going to a school in another town away from my friends) but seeing so many people get away with acting like complete twats to other people and getting away with it because the teachers did not give a fuck, and my lessons being uninteresting I ending up just not giving a fuck and getting shit GCSEs which hurt me latter on in life.

As an example I took GCSE History because I find it interesting and expected to learn more about British Histroy with the class. WRONG! My GCSE exam was on the birth of Greek medicine (an interesting subject that was taught badly) and the settlement of the US wild west, which I could not give a single shit about.

School was shit. My mum always said to me "wait till you have to go to work, youll look back and wish you were at school"

She was wrong. I finish work and I dont anymore work when I get home, I get paid and I can spend my money on going out and drinking beer and generally having a good time. Not to mention at school there are the "cool" kids and a load of different cliques. At work you socialise with your work buddies and you all have different tastes etc

When people say "your school days are the best days of your life" they are lying. School is a means to an end so you can leave school and get a good job or go to a good uni so you can actually start your life.

All I can say is knuckle down and ignore the fucking idiots. When you leave school with a decent education or get a good job (which im assuming you will as you seem pretty motivated) then youll have enough money etc to go out and have a good time while the "cool" kids are jeremy kyle rejects

Secondly I never ever implied for that comment as a homophobic slur. Thirdly, you know what for the counting, I never ever said in any way that being gay was wrong and offended that you assumed that it was my intent when it weren't.
Using a longwinded version of "lol, you're gay" as an insult is rather homophobic.

That's why I said often portrayed. It's not 100% true I get it but its good to mind fuck someone who bullies you for years and that was my first instant come back.
Normally, I'd agree, but the idea is built on assumed homophobia. If the person doesn't think gay sex was wrong, it doesn't work.
Nah he thought homosexual was wrong. One of the reason why he reacted the way he did and secondly kept using words like ****** to insult those who were different and not like him which included me. Even assumed a male teacher was gay because he crossed his legs and then became more of an arsehole.
I meant, you are using an insult something which is built around homophobia. You are yourself saying being gay is wrong to do that.
Wow seriously? First of all this was something I said when I was around 14. Secondly I never ever implied for that comment as a homophobic slur. Thirdly, you know what for the counting, I never ever said in any way that being gay was wrong and offended that you assumed that it was my intent when it weren't.

I never said or implied "lol, you're gay". I said it to point out something to him which was if he kept using words and insulting and bullying those who are different, including those who are gay or not, the he should really look at what that jeans around the knees action is often portrayed as something whether its something negative or not.

If I offended anyone with that comment I will hold my hand up and apologise BUT to call me a homophobic person just for pointing out something is really uncalled for.

Just to stick on topic of this subject I have said in the original post, could we not go off topic before it gets derailed. If you have a personal issue with me or anyone else, we can easily discuss in a private chatroom manner. Boy that was fun.

except as someone who is gay and struggled with people saying similar things to me when i went through school i can tell you it can make you feel like shit so yeah it is a homophobic slur. If i had overheard you saying that to someone i would make sure to avoid you, sorry just saying it how it is. its pretty much the same as saying 'lol your gay' which makes you no better than them in that regard.

So I guess now I am labeled a homophobe? I said something 8 years ago that I had no idea what the full context of it was apart from what was said back then. I used it to point out something but now I am a labeled a homophobe because of it? Thank you, it weren't my even my intent but to show him that it weren't right that he was bullying people because of who they are.

When I was fourteen, I was sitting in math class listening to some shit about the Pythagoras Theorum. I started audibly laughing, and when questioned, I responded by gesturing to my work and exclaiming, laughing the whole time, "What is this garbage? Algebra was bad enough but what the hell practical application can you fathom for this outside architecture? I just can't anymore."

And that's the moment I gave up on my education, and went from a grade-A student to failing every class. I dropped out as soon as I was legally able and never regretted any of it. My life kicks ass, absolutely no thanks to high school. An amazing waste of time and energy.

For me it was more or less both years with electronics, like when we suddenly were supposed to learn about addaption amogst birds... I mean... really?
Or when I discovered that I knew math better than our teacher, and he refused to let me work on the more advanced stuff as he could not help me with it.

Or when we time and time again pointed out the wrongs our main teacher did, and when we did so he just said "oh" and went for a coffie.

In UK education too, English Language AS. The whole of it. Goddamn, even worse being taught a module called 'language and gender' by a relatively feminist teacher. Holy shit.

Except i didn't call you a homophobe even once, im sure your a decent guy. what you said was homophobic but that doesn't mean you are a homophobe otherwise everyone would be one. I was just letting you know that what you said was wrong and could be seen as offensive if anyone overheard you out of context. To relate this to the topic i had a teacher who often said homophobic things, lucky it wasn't a subject a wanted to continue studying otherwise i would of done something about it

As mentioned above, saying or doing a homophobic thing doesn't make you a homophobe. It's something to avoid doing again, though.

I think the guy made it abundantly clear he wouldn't since he already understood what load he was dropping. I think you guys harping on him gave him the impression that you guys were accusing him. You could've let it be when he mentioned that he didn't have a clue about it back then.

OT: As for my times that I actually switched off... Well, I don't remember much of high school, other than some social interactions, and that was limited at best. In my mind, I would be done by that time and just spend all that time at home. That didn't work out so well for me.

I apologise and yes you are right the comment was a bad comment to use a comment that is still bad. I know you never called me a homophobe and things on my part got too heated and I apologise. If I did offend anyone back then, then I will hold my hand up and say sorry and admit my mistake.

Someone apologised over the internet, the internet will now implode. I am kidding.

8 years go, when I was a teenager who barely knew any better, 8 odd years ago. I understand though where you are coming from and respect your right to say it. Apologies for getting overly heated on my part.

Fair enough...I know from experience, it's never fun being called out on stuff like that, happened to me more than once.
