Haven't cried at a game, but as a kid I did come close when Lavitz was killed in Legend of Dragoon. My favorite character, and they killed him.

:(
Oh man, I know what you mean. And then they replaced him with Albert. Ugh lol. That one didn't make me cry though.

I cried during Final Fantasy VI when a couple characters die in the middle. Also in Final Fantasy VII when Aeris dies. Also Mass Effect 3 when a bunch of people die. And in Chrono Trigger when Crono dies. Basically I don't deal with death very well in video games lol.

In SotC when you're about to fight the final colossus and
Agro falls off the cliff saving you. I felt really sad, but didn't cry or anything. When he showed up later I was actually kind of disappointed because I felt that it lessened the affects of Wanderer's actions.

The good ending of Infamous 2 made me tear up.

And the ending of MGS3 also made me tear up.

Reading all these replies, none made me cry but i was shocked when i played them. Like the Red Dead Redemption ending, FF7 that girl being stabbed and Mordin sacrificing his life.

Oh, christ. ME3 made me tear up so badly. It was actually the music that did it for me. The track is called Vigil, and I'm sure you guys all know the parts of the game when that track comes on...

Aside from that, the JRPG that came out for Xbox a few years back, Lost Odyssey. I'm not the greatest fan of JRPGs, but... just watch this.

Certain moments of this story were so unbelievably moving, helped GREATLY in part by the fantastic soundtrack by the one and only Nobuo Uematsu. There were also small 'powerpoint' style bits of writing throughout the game that you could read, and some of them... so, fucking, sad. Just beautifully written.

Edit: Oh god. Just watched that video again. Teared up immediately as soon as she said "I don't have much time..." and Parting Forever by Nobuo Uematasu comes on...

The end of Persona 4... I cried towards the end, recovered then started again during the actual end cutscene.

Then rerestarted again after the very final scene

Fuck I love that game.

Also the last confrontation in case 5 in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations had me in tears because it was so awesome

If you've played it you know what i'm talking about.

I have a feeling Okami will have me the same way once I actually get around to finishing it XP

[sub]Ah single line spacing... We meet again, my old nemesis...[/sub]

Tears of fear were shed multiple times in Amnesia.
Apart from that, I might occasionally shed a solitary tear at the end of a game I found awesome, like the STALKER games. Just finishing those for the first time made me feel so sad, that they would never surprise me again. Then I find out that STALKER 2 has been liquefied. Bad feels all round.

As everyone else is saying here, the ending to Red Dead Redemption, I things slightly spoiled for me because I knew the death would happen, but the nature of it totally took me by surprise. I didn't cry, but I got a sort of emotional punch.
Other emotional punches have been served by the Assassin's Creed series, especially II. Nothing sad happened, but it was that immense ending music combined with the cliffhanger which did it for me. Brotherhood's twist also left me in a state of shock and sadness. Revelations? Er, not so much. I laughed at "sit down and rest".

Heavy Rain

The scene after Jason is killed and Ethan is picking up Shaun at his ex-wife's house and Shaun just looks dissapointed at Ethan and Ethan is clearly trying not to cry. And then in the attic of Ethan's new house where he has the small tv set up with the video taken at Jason's birthday and then he just puts the remote down and cries
Heavy Rain got to me in a lot of ways actually, but the only time I really cried during it was
during Ethan's final trial when he has to drink the poison to get the last clue. I have to give this game credit because by that point I was so heavily invested in his character and wanting to save Shaun that the simple act of being forced to choose whether to die to save him and leave him without a father or try to find him on my own and risk him dying left me sitting there with tears running down my face for five minutes before I did anything. I think that deserves some extra emphasis: being forced to make a choice which decided the fate of two fictional characters made me cry. Of course this was somewhat undermined later when I found out the poison wasn't actually poison and there was no danger from drinking it, but at that moment it had the effect it needed to have on me, and I hold that game in very high regard, despite any of the problems it has.

*Spoilers ahead (probably)*
First of all, death of Mordin and Thane in ME3. I just loved those guys.
Next:Shadow of Colossus. Not that I cried, but I felt some sort of crying feeling every time I killed the Colossi.
But the most tear-bringing moment for me is ending of Final Fantasy X. Six times I've completed it, six times I cried.

That one scene in Persona 4 and the ending. I wouldn't dare spoil it.
I played the game. Which scene are you talking about?

Manly tears were shed when Mordin died in ME3. And Grunt's scene got close.
Such a shame all that emotion turned to hate when I got to the ending. Oh well.
All of this, plus last two hours of MGS4. That ending ruined what was one of the best games ever.

I don't think i've ever cried because of a game, but i do always feel a certain sadness whenever i complete a long rpg game like final fantasy.

I'm not entirely sure why.

Journey, every damn time. Whenever I've played a long game with one person and we have to part at the end, it always makes me cry because I never want it to end also the fact that Journey is so beautiful and lovely and my life as it is now is not soooo yeah.

Portal 2 did it for me. Just after finishing the game, i lay the controller down and teared up a bit.

Also, GTA4. I genuinely felt bad for Niko after Kate died, yet surprised at how deeply immersed i was in their relationship.

It wasn't exactly the ending of MGS4 that got me. It was that goddamn microwave tunnel. The whole game builds up watching your favorite hero pushing himself to death, and really crescendos at that point.

Also Drawn to Life 2. There is one point in that game where EVERYTHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG does. Also the ending was really depressing.

I teared up a bit for Mordin & Thane but not for Grunt - I can't imagine he'd want to die in bed ...and then there's the way Grunt's "last stand" played out too.

Fallout 3's original ending pushed my weepy-button and MGS 4's end definitely got to me too, though I don't think I actually leaked.

For RDR the false ending (before the time skip) was indeed sad, but the post-skip ending left me angry & frustrated. After all the agent's arrogant superioroty I wanted to disarm him & walk away - just out of spite.

It's not really the sort of game to make you cry, but in Prototype when Dana is kidnapped and, even with all that power, you are completely unable to stop it. Similarly, in the second game when...
Dana is reintroduced as Father Guerra's informant. I bawled tears of happiness.

Also, Silent Hill 2: Angela. Holy shit, every time she's on screen I want to ask if she wants a hug (the asking thing is important), some hot chocolate and a blanket and a few more TVs to bash her dad's head in with.
