Bioshock 1 and 2 for PC. Stalking around in the darkness, and all the sudden A SPLICER APPEARS! Good for some late night laughs at myself, playing with noise canceling headphones on in a dark room in the middle of the night.

The game that really got to me though was The Suffering (Xbawks). That game scared the living hell out of me. I never could play it in a dark room after T's third or fourth hallucination.

First time I played Metroid Prime 2: Echoes... The starting area, in the base filled with pesticide, giant bugs and corpses containing logs of how they got overrun... I was so scared... When the zombies came... I passed the controls to my brother... and didn't play again for a year... (This was my first time playing Metroid... I did have very dim memories of watching my dad play the original though)
going along with this, when i play metroid fusion i can remember countless times that i have to walk through an area that i know in the FUTURE will contain a really difficult boss, but i still expect them to jump out. one in parrticular i can think of, a long corridor in which later on the SA-X chases you.
Going along with this again... I've had an opposite case... first time playing, the SA-X was on the level below me... I thought I was perfectly safe, and was steeling myself for the chase... when the floor fell away... AH CRAP! I died there 3 or so times...

Fatal Frame.

Dunno, I just can't do it. Something about that game really got to me and I never finished it.
This. Even when there's no ghosts present, it feels like you could run into a bunch at any second. The fact that you always have limited amounts of film (ammo) in the first game probably doesn't help.

Of all the Fatal Frame games released in English, the first one is the only one I cannot bring myself to beat (stupid I know).

Counter-Strike

Being the last Terrorist alive duringa bomb map, and having that 'beep, beep, beep' tie in with your heartbeart, terrified as you take out the encroaching CT's one by one, until there's only one left, their best player...

Only to find that the sweaty palms and aprehension were for nothing because he was AFK.

Not sure why, but when I was playing through Metroid Prime for the first time (!), and got to that part in Phendrana where you see Metaridley's shadow pass over you and the landscape, I was just completely consumed with pure dread. I saved my game, turned off my gamecube and didn't touch it again for about three days. Maybe I just assumed that a fight with Ridley was imminent.
