Shadow Hearts: Covenant.

If you put the time in to get your four primary characters every possible upgrade you can find you are essentially Walking Gods.

Yuri becomes a demonic Seraphim capable of dealing damage to everyone while completely resurrecting the party to full health.

Kurando becomes a rampaging ogre that can destroy just about everything with his basic attacks

Joachim in his great question form simply can not be harmed. He is an unstoppable vampire... of JUSTICE

Anastasia wields magics that are unquestioningly powerful, plus i need her to know my enemies vital signs. Plus i just think she is an awesome character.

If you master the crest board all your magic is made infinitely stronger plus you get the power of melt crest, one of the most powerful spells in the game.

Upgrading everyone's judgment rings so its actually harder to score regular hits then critical hits. Give Yuri the accessory Extreme and even un-morphed he can destroy most enemies quickly.

I'd say once you get to a high level in Oblivion you're pretty much unstoppable. You can walk into a town, kill every living thing in it and walk out again without breaking a sweat.
I feel the same. I've played through that game probably a dozen times, and my primary mage is probably the most godlike being I've ever played. Damage from arrows and environmental damage are the only things that can penetrate his defenses, due to how the game renders damage. Of course, I did exploit glitches to get that far.

Strongest I've ever felt legitimately is harder to pin down. Probably any game that lets you customize your character I've felt like a badass by the end, since I tend to munchkin. Most recently my level 61 Hunter in Borderlands, who can kill nearly anything with a single shot.

well...I found myself pretty overpowered in Prototype. Smashing tanks with your bear hands and throwing helicopters about was pretty awesome.
Now, I have Prototype, and found it fun, but I don't think I ever got the bear hands upgrade...
Unless you meant "Bare hands"
[sub]Yes, I'm afraid I am a grammar nazi.[/sub]

OT: Fallout 3 was pretty hard at first, then after I hoarded weapons and ammo for the first five levels it got easier, and after level fifteen, nothing could stop me and at level 30 I could take out a deathclaw with ease using a dart gun and a plasma rifle, and I would probably be able to kill a behemoth with the amount of 10mm ammo I hadn't used since level 6.

Health was irrelevant, considering I had around 180 after a heavy firefight with Enclave Hellfire troopers.
No the "bear" was quite intentional :> . I mean the club-like hands you get at some point.
Well they are what came to mind when you said bear hands, but they're considerably larger and probably heavier, so I'd probably say they're more like boulders attatched to your arms, though that doesn't flow as well I suppose.

Having chosen the Jedi Guardian (and subsequently Weapon Master), the final hours of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II showed me how pitiful Sith Lords really were.
Or any class really. I tried my hardest to find a class combo that wouldn't skate through the last level of this game and I couldn't. Why the f**k is the last level the easiest of them all? That is horrible game design.

Metroid Zero Mission: after regaining my powers in the Space Pirate ship, I just blasted away everyone in sight.

Final Fantasy VIII: when I was level 12 or something with about 800 hp and 300 damage, I buffed up Squall's GF, giving him 3500+ hp and about 1500 damage, thunder-based. I kicked ass, that is until I ran into a monster that was resistant to thunder...

Having the Grenade Launcher or the new M60 Machine gun in L4D2.

I love laughing like a maniac over the mic.

In bioshock i was playing on hard and i was hunting big daddies for sport and killing them in a few hits with conventional ammo.
You were not playing on hard.

OT: Fable 2 is much too easy. The combat system just doesn't work if I don't die during an entire playthrough, and the punishment for doing so is negligible.

Fable II after getting the Red Dragon pistol and sub-targetting, or getting Rank 5 Lightning. Either combined with rank 3 time slowing is just game-breakingly powerful.

Err...
The lowest level enemies on the second playthrough are level 32.
The game will kick your ass, even at maximum level, especially in Knoxx.
not when you load up the first play through again

and the only hard part even on the second play through is the vault boss at the end

Fallout 2, 10LK, Sniper, Bonus Rate of Fire, Fast Shot, 2x Action Boy. Killing six Advanced Power Armor-clad Enclave soldiers per round with nothing but a deagle?

Feels good man.

For me the most recent time was the last couple levels of BioShock 2. My big daddy could tear the shit out of anything. I killed Big Sisters with just my drill, I had max ammo on all my guns, maxed HP and eve, I had a couple elite robot guardians at all times... It was a lot of fun! And this was on hard, tho I'll admit the first 2 or 3 levels were very tough on hard but after some decent upgrading it was alright.

Fallout 3 at level 30... there was no life within one square mile of my character. Ever.
