I'm male, so I don't generally cry. Call it stoicism, or a general hatred of the world, or maybe social pressure, but I don't cry. But there are those moments in shows, especially ones I've watched for years, where I get down for the duration of the scene. I've been recently rewatching Scrubs, and Season 6, episode 15 has a moment where:

Carla says goodbye to Laverne, in a really emotional scene.

Here it is:

Gurren Lagann. Episode 8. Manly fucking Tears. All over the place.

Seriously that entire series was amazing, go watch it if you haven't already. Boot it up again if you have.

Also the end of Persona 4, made me cry 3 seperate times over like 10 minutes.

The Ace Attorney games, the third one specifically because Phoenix's character arc came to an end and it was glorious... The end of Bridge to the Turnabout was awesome.

God damn you for posting that, I too think of myself as rather stoic but damn that seen gets me emotional, if not teary. And in revenge I post another one from Scrubs.

For a sitcom, damn, did that show have some emotional moments.

Persona 4 was emotional as fuck. Fucking Nanako man, I usually hate little girls in anime/JRPGs, but god damn she made me teary eyed more than once.

If I'm going to shed manly tears it's more often over a book where I'm really attached to the characters but occasionally some movies or shows will do it. There were episodes in Band of Brothers that really tore me up and one scene in Enemy At The Gates for the most memorable ones.

I admit it didn't make me cry but it did drop my mood a lot.

Made worse when....

He came back as a ghost and the boys had to finish him off

Also got into The Unit recently (was looking for something to fill the time between Strike Back episodes) and got a bit choked when....

Hector got killed after spending the whole episode keeping Grey alive

Only thing to almost make me cry was seeing the end of House of Flying Daggers on the big screen. Also, the movie Vital almost made me cry. . .almost...*bawl*

The only time that I have ever cried was when

Dale died in the Walking dead and sort of when Shane was killing all the Walkers and Sophia walked out

Also the Seymour scene in Futurama makes me really teary, however it was lessened when they made Bender's Big Score. That kind of ruined the whole scene for me, though I still get really sad when I see it.

Only time I've ever genuinely bawled in response to any form of fiction be it game, film, movie w/e:

This made me WAY more emotional than Kamina's death, for reference.

Made all the worse(better?) because I COMPLETELY didn't see it coming. That scene hit me like a ton of bricks.

For some context:

Viral is a genetically engineered 'beastman', therefor has no 'spiralenergy'(until the final battle) therefor cannot reproduce. The scene takes place during a dream sequence where everyone is seen living their ideal life(or close to it). The sharped tooth guy, Viral, is a stoic badass with a heart of gold, and despite being a jerk for a while you can always sense he's got more going on emotionally. Then this scene happens.

I cant really think of a movie or TV show that has got me to the point of crying.

This video will always reduce me to a blubbering heap.

At the end, when the 2 Tachikoma save Batou and sacrifice themselves by kamikazing the Armed Suit.

That damn oily tear Batou's personal Tachikoma sheds always gets to me.

GodDAMMIT that was close... I almost cried myself, but again, male-mandated stoicism.

The ending of Air the 1000th Summer, no scratch that, THE ENTIRE FUCKING SHOW
There is no one alive that I know that was able to watch the entire series without crying at the ending, seriously, its so fucking sad.

Also Angel Beats
Seriously, watch the entire show, its just as sad as Air.
.
.
Air, Clannad, Kanon, Angel Beats..... all made by the company Key, or in Angel Beats case people who worked at Key before, all of them so fucking depressing.

The Simpsons. In response to Bart and Lisa asking why the family photo album has no baby pictures of Maggie, Homer tells the story of Maggie's unplanned birth including his having to quit his dream job to return to working at the power plant. Mr. Burns puts a de-motivational plaque in front of his workstation reading "DON'T FORGET: YOU'RE HERE FOREVER." Homer, distressed, goes to the hospital and is in a depression until newborn Maggie holds his thumb. His outlook instantly changes. Homer answers Bart and Lisa, saying there are pictures of Maggie but he put them where he needed them most. Cut to Homer's workstation with the plaque plastered with pictures of Homer and Maggie. The plaque now reads "DO IT FOR HER."

Sweetest moment in TV history. Still makes me misty eyed.

...when everyone congratulates Shinji. It was such a magical moment to see him finally be enlightened and 'happy' after all he went through. I don't even give a damn that it didn't explain anything! The message is just fantastic and perfect for anyone and everyone really.

Just going to say, going into a thread like this will have people writing about unexpected twists, or endings for the most part, but please take care and actually give warning to what you're about to spoil. Either talk about it in a vague sense, or use the spoiler tags, they are made for this exact purpose.

It's a massive pet peeve of mine, especially when people do this on things such as Facebook. I already had this unexpectedly spoiled for me there, as well as the latest season of Sons of Anarchy by people who do not give warning and just type and post without giving second thought.

Anyways, on topic, Firefly: The Message.

Tracey's death and funeral get me every single time. No matter how many times I watch it, I always wind up shedding a tear or two during the ending voice over. It's funny as well because this is still just an episode with one guest character who you only got to know for a little while, but damn did that episode ever leave an impact on me.
