You know when you are watching or playing something and a moment comes up that would fall apart with a lesser actor, and the guy/girl pulls it off? Lets share our favorite moments of those now. My favorite moment comes from EverymanHybrid namely this video:

See if you can find what I like about the job Evan's (the long haired one for the uninitiated) acting job.

Nostalgia critic's earliest work. I doubt anyone else could pull off that character of his during his reviews.

Also one for voice acting...kind of. The reaper voice from Mass Effect 1. Yes it's digitally distorted, but it wouldn't have had nearly as much impact if they had gone with a different kind of voice I think.

Recently, I've got to say Bryan Cranston as Walter White.

To go from Hal, from Malcolm in the Middle, to a character like that.

And he pulls it off so fucking well.

David from The Last of Us,
I beat the game, read the credits... Wait... that's Nolan North!?

But that might have been more my surprise seeing hearing him in that role.

Anything and everything Sean Bean ever does. That man is a genius when it comes to acting.

Leonardo diCaprio as well. I have such a crush on that man. <3

Christian Bale's performance in Equilibrium. The moment he listens to music and just breaks... it's simply beautiful.

Also Liam Neeson in Taken. Especially "I don't know who you are" moment. This man is menacing as hell.

Samuel L. Jackson in Django. The minute he steps into scene you go "Wow, THIS is Samuel L. Jackson!?". And then he steals every scene he's in, and you forget the macho Shaft persona he's been living off since Pulp Fiction. Really amazing and underrated actor. I would've given the Oscar to him rather than Waltz (he already has one for practically the same role, anyway).

I had to look up that on Wikipedia. And when I did, I went "THAT was SAMUEL L. JACKSON?"
DANG that was amazing.

The first thing that I can think of is Colin Firth in A Single Man, pretty much the whole way through he acts the fuck out of that film. It's pretty awesome considering I've only ever seen him act before in pretty stiff period dramas or shitty rom-coms.

I've had a fair bit of contempt for the Superman films ever since I first heard about the whole 'spin the earth backwards to reverse time' thing, and I tended to hold the actors in similarly low regard. Then I see this:

And then I just had to give Reeve due credit for how differently he played Superman and Kent. It's enough to make the Kent disguise actually seem plausible.

Julia Roberts in "Erin Brokovich". Pick any scene. She was spot on! She deserved that Oscar.

Aaron Paul in these last few seasons of Breaking Bad. Especially his little breakdown in season 4. I hope he has a good career after the show is over.

Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead when he slowly starts to lose his mind and see Lori everywhere.
His acting is just fantastic, it made me feel so emotional.
Tom Hanks is a pretty solid actor, able to portray a wide array of characters and The Green Mile was just outstanding especially with Michael Clarke Duncan.

I love Helena Bonhem Carter too maybe it's because she's a complete babe but she puts so much energy into her performances.
I also loved and felt for Meryl Streep when she played The Iron Lady, all her other movies are great too.

Watching Denzel Washington in Training Day is like watching a lose electrical wire snap and pop about. You know it's going to hit someone sooner or later and it will be violent.

Strongly agreed. Christian Bale is one of my favourite actors, and I think Equilibrium might be his best performance. He pulls off a character who had no emotions, now has them but still has to pretend he doesn't incredibly well.

He's also very good in The Prestige.

In "The Godfather" there is a moment of acting so perfect, so brilliant, that it tells the entire story on its own. After Don Vito is shot in the street, his son Michael goes to visit him in hospital and finds there is no-one there - no Family guards, no private security, no-one. He knows that means their enemies are coming back to finish off the Don, so he hides his father in another room, and then stands outside the hospital pretending to be a "soldier", and ropes in the hapless Enzo, a simple baker who has also turned up to pay his respects to the Don. It works; the rival guns show up, see Michael and Enzo outside the door, and think the plan has gone wrong so they just drive away. When they've gone, Enzo wants to smoke, but his hands are shaking so much he can't get a light going, so Michael does it for him - and that's when it happens. Just for a second, as Michael gives Enzo the light, he looks at his own hand...and it is steady as a rock. And it is all there, for a fleeting second, in Pacino's eyes; "Well, that's that then. I didn't want this life, I wasn't supposed to have this life, but this is who I am."
