Pretty much any big moment in KOTOR made me love the game. From the moment I wake up in my underwear on the Endar Spire, to the big reveal in the middle, every moment in that game is just awesome.

I played 56% of Call of Duty 4's plot at two separate and unrelated occasions: at a relative's house and at a school dance (they had video games for those who didn't like to dance.). I didn't like shooters except for Battlefront 2 at the time, but I played the game because I didn't have anything else to do.
I fell in love with the game after that Nuke exploded. Seriously, no combat related game I ever played in the past put you in levels where you never actually kill enemies. This game instead had me crawl out of a wrecked helicopter after a Nuclear Explosion with no chance of surviving, and I could only examine the destruction before I succumb to both my wounds and radiation poisoning.
It was the first "real" shooter I ever bought, and I regret nothing.

Mafia. I was a kid back then, and i remember being chased by some cops and running up the ladders to that littler train. i entered the train, blood running warm in my vains, the cops behind me SHOOTING, BLASTING the windows of the train with me inside, CROUCHING and GETTING UP to try to put shots on the cops
it was beatiful. i remember thiking 'cara eu amo video game' (portuguese for man i love video games)

and excuse the bad english. im brazilian.

Kingdom Hearts.
The big ol' knight Heartless in Travers Town.
And I get rescued.
By Donald
Mo'.
Fo'ing.
Duck.
I remember seeing part of that fight in a trailer, and I was fairly flabbergasted, to say the least.

I thought that was a little kid thing, but after playing again the other day, I'm sad to say my mind apparently stopped maturing when I was about 11.

KOTOR. You know which moment I'm talking about. Everything else already had it contending for my favorite game ever, but the defining moment of the game just launched the game above everything else.
Oh so very yes.

Also, the entirety of Mafia - I love the part where Tommy can't kill the guy in the gang that attacked Sarah and the ending is fantastic (especially when he proves Sam wrong).

From this moment forward, I could tell this game was going to stay in the cd drive for a while.

When I used the hammer of dawn for the first time in Gears, I thought chainsaws were cool enough but...'
Also All Ghillied Up. Remains one of my favorite levels/missions in a game all time.

Mass Effect had me hooked from the second I put it in, but it wasn't until the conversation with Vigil that I realized how great of a game it was.

Rally? I knew it was my favorite game the moment Snake jumped out of that plane in the beginning. It was such an awesome moment.

A few others like Vice City when I found out the guy can talk and it's none other than Ray Liota. Same thing with San Andreas. I used to keep myself out of the loop because of the surprise factor so when I played SA I didn't know anything about it except that the protagonist is a gangsta. It took me 5 minutes to get addicted to the game.
Mass Effect - when I became a Spectre
Assassin's Creed - first time in Jerusalem
Morrowind - first time in Balmora
Oblivion - right after I got out of sewers
