I'm a decently avid League of Legends player. The unfortunate side affect of this is that I'm part of one of the worst online gaming communities in the world. I openly recognize this as a small price to pay, and usually just ignore the community. So when I saw all the bitching on the forums about Riot breaking the game again with the latest patch, I dismissed it as the normal squabbling. When I saw the announcement of a log-in queue, I didn't think anything of it, because there are short queue's all the time, usually at most 30 minutes if the servers are really clogged. I could deal with that.
Then I tried to log-in and JESUS BEGORAH IT'S A FOUR HOUR QUEUE! Not only that, but I've been waiting for about 20 minutes now, and my place/wait time hasn't budged. Once, just this once, I had to concede that the general assholery of the community was correct, and that somebody dun fucked up bad.
This got me thinking: Does this happen in other gaming groups? I'm not really a part of any other online gaming community, so I can't speak from a broad base of experience, but it seems by the logic that even a broken clock is right twice a day this has to happen elsewhere.
