Yes.... those moments...

Whether it be trying to something extremely perfect and getting absolutely no error, or just feeling like you've made the wrong choices, these are still maddening.

This came up as I'm playing through Fire Emblem (Sacred Stones).

If you're not familiar with Fire Emblem, there's a pretty big catch that makes me love the game so much.

When a character dies; they're dead.

No revives, nothing. So whenever someone falls in battle, I find myself restarting the entire chapter, just so I don't have to see them die.

Another one I could think of is the horseback archery in OoT. Finally got that thing at a perfect 2000, and no better reward....

When I'm playing the missions in ARMA II, whenever I kill a civilian or do some unnecessary collateral damage to someone's home, I almost always restart so I don't have to see them or their family freaking out.

Dark Souls, completely fucked up my skills, apparently Dexterity isn't what you want to go for in the Thief class. Who knew... There's not having a tutorial (perfectly reasonable) and then there's not telling me shit.

AND DON'T TELL ME TO LOOK UP FAQS! It'll be a cold day in hell when i go groveling to FAQs unless the game in question runs on adventure game logic and/or is a point and click game

Made a Pyromancer, suddenly the game is exactly the same... Except you get the ability to trolololol your way through the basic enemies

Anyway the skills aren't what made me quit that game, it was the complete lack of motivation, why exactly should i press through your bullshit game? Oh cuz it's hard... And that's it? Fuck off game.

Mass Effect; it got to a point where I had apparently made every wrong choice conceivable-I wasn't evil enough to be evil, or good enough to be good, and really couldn't go anywhere. (note: this was really only an issue because I was trying to do the companion quests).

Did it a lot in the Assassin's Creed missions.

I... find it kinda disappointing how it's challenging to play a stealth guy in the game, but bum rushing the person works every time. I ended up going out of my way not to use any of the prostitutes, thieves, or other bullshit guys and tried to either navigate the roofs or walk through the crowds.

Lots more satisfying kills.

Oblivion, when I ran into three game-breaking bugs and decided to read the wiki instead of finishing it.

Every battle in Baldur's Gate as people keep dying?

I love the Baldur's Gate series by the way, just saying though...

Fallout 3, i was so proud of myself to make ghouls and humans live together peacefully on tenpenny tower, but when i unloaded my junk in my house in Megaton and came back the ghouls had killed every single human there, i was so pissed and killed every single one of them, then i reloaded my save before the quest and killed them again.

Oh and Dragon age II, i couldnt kill the last boss because of a bug and i had no previous saves, so i made another character and completed the game again, it turns out ir really was the last boss, got rid of my copy of DAII soon after that.

...The battle of the Hell Gate in The Last Remenant.

If you're too low a level when you get to that point, and you happen to save inside the starter room, you can't get out and have to restart the entire game.

They DO provide a warning about it in their defence, when overwriting saves. I was just too stupid to check.

Consequently, I have never finished The Last Remenant.

I remember my brother told me he carefully placed all the books he found in Oblivion in his house so the whole room would look awesome whenever he came home. On one occasion the physx screwed up when he entered and sent all the books flying around like mad.

He told me he was so freaked out, he deleted his savegame and started over lol.

I know, that quest is fucked up... If you ever want to complete it, the moral decision is a tough one. Kick the ghouls out, bad moral decision. Get ghouls and humans to live peacefully, ghouls kill humans. Side with ghouls, ghouls kill all humans and take over everything. No solution... It's one or the other, one side leaves or dies, no matter what the solution.

OT: Just a few days ago with Okamiden.

I read Gamefaqs a bit and found out I permanently missed several things that I found crucial. I restarted despite already being halfway through the game.

Though I've owned it for years, I have never finished Final Fantasy Tactics on the PS1. I got to this part where I'm stuck in what I believe is some sort of library. I didn't train enough, so I can't win the battle the battle that separates me from the exit. And there's no way to go back and level some more. So it looks like I'll have to start over if ever I want to finish it, but now I don't really have much of a desire to.

I had a save file that bugged out on me once when playing Morrowind. I was exploring an underwater cave in Solstheim when I got stuck in the walls. Not only was I unable to get out, but I also kept drowning because I was still submerged. I was playing the Xbox version, so I couldn't free myself via console commands like I could on the PC. I didn't want to do everything over again from the last save file a good three to four hours earlier, so I threw up my hands, said "screw it," and started over with a new character build.

It was a darn shame. My Orc had just gotten a full suit of Ebony armor to go along with his Daedric battleaxe. I've made sure to follow the old axiom "save early, save often" ever since when playing a Bethesda game.

Often when I do math problems, I start over from the beginning because I forgot to write a minus or something.

Now seriously, I have never seen anyone who didn't start over if they didn't get a perfect shot in Angry Birds

Two cases of Mass Effect, one where I accidently wooed Liara in ME1 and I was working on a file for ME2 were I could get Tali, God damnit, why can't I be nice to ME women without them jumping all over me? And another on my first ME2 playthrough and it was time for the Omega 4 relay and only half of my crew was loyal and I had read online what would happen if I went as I was or if I waited...I never finished that playthrough.

I have tried to play the Ratchet and Clank games all the way through without taking a hit. If I fail, I stand there and wait for the enemies to kill me so I can start over.
