Monarchies now are (at least the ones where the King is the absolute Law) now called Dictatorships and most countries (In Europe, North America, or Some in Asia) dont like dictators.but why cant people just mix and match them?

It all boils down to this:

Queen Liz 2
or
Brown, Thatcher, Blair?

I know which I'd pick.

Monarchy has stood the test of time, who is anyone to disagree with what works?
Fascism works.
People trafficking works.
Prostitution works.
Touché

Apart from the prostitution, I don't see anything wrong with that, and sometimes America is called a fascist country.

People trafficking hasn't been around as long as the others not quite stood the test of time yet.

Because absolute monarchies are typically extremely oppressive and/or corrupt. Europe knows this very well because we had centuries of absolute monarchies, to the point where most of Europe cast out their Kings/Queens (sometimes minus heads).

Basically, in an absolute monarchy, you are classed as the Kings possession. You have no rights, but that the King allows you. Including the right to exist. I really don't get what your pressing at with the "mix and match" bit. An absolute monarchy is simply a special type of dictatorship.

I can barely stand modern democracies, let alone a monarchy(I'm a bit of a Daoist/Anarchist). Although having a monarchy does give everyone something to directly rebel agianst.

Monarchies are disgusting to me, but I can recognize that in their current state they are inconsequential. Then again, I hate all forms of government.

Don't think for a minute that if the majority of the people really didn't want the Queen around, then she'd still be in 'power'.

She doesn't do any harm, and, as Fondant said, she probably makes more money from tourism than she costs the country.

Obviously I don't want an absolute ruler, elected or not, but the current European systems with a powerless figurehead are fine.

EDIT: It also makes our money nicer. Anyone who has seen that episode of Peep Show... will now probably hate me.
Haha, I'd agree with the money thing if only it weren't for Elgar always popping up and ruining everything.

Anyway, I don't really mind having a Royal Family. They only have complete power on the condition that they never use it. They also make Britain that little bit more interesting to tourists.
The only thing that bothers me really is the people who are distantly related to the Royal Family, invariably pretentious twats who think they're somehow better than everyone else because of their inbred ancestry.

Monarchy usally means that they think that they got this power to rule over us common folk from the gods, so Il have to say nay because stateing that your power came from the divines means that stating that your god blessed you with this power can come from any average joe who belives in god and wants to live it up easy, claimin god has blessed you is not a proper way to take control of the goverment system!
