I don't think I saw anyone link this when I looked through this forum... The amount of information given isn't exactly substantial, but it's still information, right?

http://www.dsogaming.com/news/borderlands-2-first-details-unveiled/

- Co-op will probably be 4 players
- Vehicles will have variety
- One vehicle: Bandit Technical
- One vehicle will have four seats
- Eridium ¨C enhance weapons
- Eridium is a form of currency
- Salvador: Gunzerker, can dual-wield with any weapon
- Vault Hunters from the first game will be NPCs
- Bandits can access their own type of weaponry
- Unique styling, color, personality for each manufacturer
- Custom decals/enhancements for weapons
- More responsive enemies, more varied, better AI, improvement so that they interact with each other better
- NPCs will also be improved, will move around more
- Interacting dialogue for players
- Skill tree will be similar to the first game (3 branch system)
- Claptrap seems to be returning
- Apparently there won¡¯t be any old weapons
- Story missions won¡¯t be static
- Some pickups will provide temporary buffs
More information.

-The players will also have interacting dialogues, similar to those in Left 4 Dead.
-Each manufacturer will have their own visual styling/theme. The purpose of this is to be able to easily identify a weapon¡¯s manufacturer and quality by simple looking at it. No manufacturers will have the same looking gun
-NPC¡¯s will be fully animated and move around their locations, interacting with objects within their locations
-Gearbox wants to make 4 seating standard on each vehicle
-Class mods and Artifacts will be returning
-BL2¡äs skill tree will maintain the 3 Branch system and have more defined abilities rather than simple stat boosts. It is unknown how many skills will occupy each branch.
-2 Gunzerker Skills were mentioned. One, increases the fire rate of any weapon the longer the trigger is held down. A second, while Dual-wielding, increases accuracy with same class weapons, or doubles damage for different class weapons.

Glad to see dialogue is being added.

What I'm really hoping for are more varied quests and environments and more smooth-feeling combat.

And for the weapons that I get to actually be useful against the enemies I'm fighting.

The following troubles me though...

- Apparently there won't be any old weapons
- Vault Hunters from the first game will be NPCs

Damn, so I can't play as Mordecai anymore and no more awesome guns from BL1? I want to keep my Pearl Ogre and Double Anarchy...

Can't wait :)
It's funny they felt the need to mention no old guns, since the game doesn't really have anything that qualifies as a singular gun it can call it's own. They're all random formula creations.

Bump. Why isn't Borderlands 2 being talked about at all here? Nobody seems to want to post or discuss.

This is going to be beyond sexy. I can't wait to hear about the other new characters. On a related note, am I alone in wanting them to add melee weapons? As in equiptable ones and not the generic melee bash?

Sorry for bumping so much, but is no one else seriously interested in Borderlands 2? This is the last time I'm really going to bump it...

Hmmm maybe if we have an old save it will let us import some of our guns? Maybe after we beat it once maybe?

Not all of this is directly new, but some of it is.

I'm happy they're making the guns more defined, and revamping the whole collection, rather than just importing old ones. I wonder what insane stuff they can come up with this time.

This is not a lot of info yet, not much to talk about, cant wait for a teaser though.

Has to be said, when I first played Borderlands, just the first hour, i realized it was an attempt at making something new, marrying fps with RPG, but trying to maintain the FPS feel first.

I knew then and there that I could not wait... for the sequel.

Because while the first one was fun its the second one where they have the money, and know what they want and how to do it, in the Game industry number 2 tends to be better then number 1 for that reason.

So I cant wait.

That's what I was thinking: I never see any "old" guns when playing the old game.
I do hope that they have new Hellfires and Volcanoes. I like setting people on fire.

I also hope that this doesn't mean that they'll be getting rid of the automated gun generation formula. That was one of the most interesting things about the game: it got me to always check the loot.

Then you never found any of the good guns.

Grumblegrumble. I loved Borderlands for it's crazy, gory, bazillion-gun-toting wackiness. Then I lent it to a friend. A little later it became clear that the guy was a total asshole and we fell out. Bloody git never gave it back. I ought to buy a new copy sometime, but I hate buying something that I've already bought once before. It makes me feel like I'm getting screwed.

I like the idea that we'll be playing new characters and that the old ones will be around.

It would be interesting if they actually went along with you for a little bit of Npc-Pc killing fun. Like for one awesomely done mission.
