Ok, i don't know about you but all the FPS's are getting really bland, stale, boring (i could go on forever)and the worst part is there just the same game with revamped grahics. All the Call of Duties are getting really old and so is halo, I still think that Halo 1 was the best in the seiries, And Big Red One didn't disapoint either. But that is as far as they got, Halo is still exacly the same game except... oh my god it has a grav ham im trembling. It's that type of thing. And now a'days it seems like game companies are spending more time on multiplayer than THE ACUAL GAME when games like Half-Life 2 and Portal showed us that if you just work on the acual game product that they will be great games einsted of mindless steriotyping shoot em ups (iraq, terrorists, middle east in general)The story is the worst part of all this since companies seem to just figure out that if you pull the trigger a bullet will go flying into an Iraqy terrorist that is in the Middle-East. Once again going back to Half-Life 2, it stayed with the story and still had good gun play without the bullets flying at iraqy terrorist. Give you comments and be as harsh as you like or agree with me, i dont care.

PS. i got into gaming around 2002 so dont say i like Half-Life 2 because I'm old school

PS. PS. I ment to say im not old school, sorry bad wording.

Text wall, old topic, poor grammar, awful spelling, there's not much to like here.

Also 2002 does NOT make you old-school....

Well, there are two kinds of games: games you play for the experience, and games you play for the competition or challenge. Half-Life and Portal, and often RPGs, are games that weigh more heavily with the experience - and the multiplayer focused games deal more with competition and challenge. You can't really fault a multiplayer-focused game for not focusing more on the single player campaign then you can fault Bioshock for not having multiplayer.

They might play similarly, but they're very different types of games.

I'm gonna go ahead and say what's on plenty of people's minds right now: "Tell us something we don't know."

MY apologies, but complaining about the "stale" FPS isn't exactly anything new around here.

Old-school is not so much when you started playing games as it is what era of games you enjoy the most. I enjoy arcade games like Metal Slug and Raiden II more than, say, Call of Duty 4, so I consider myself old-school.

Anyways, if you really want to find some good FPS's, try the older ones. Doom, Goldeneye.

Or don't play a FPS. Try some good ol' Kirby.

Welcome to the world of FPS games. For every good one there are 20 bad ones.

Team Fortress 2 is incredibly original and different. You should try it.
I know I plan to one day, even though I'm certain I'll be terrible at it.

I miss point and click, and other adventure games.
Well to be fair, an FPS is a point and click adventure game. Only with more of the former, and less of the latter.

I do enjoy a well done FPS every now and again. Typically something that doesn't fall into the vastly cliche tropes. Space Marines, WWII games...

...

...

Why isn't there a game about Space Marines in World War II?

I consider old school to be pre 1990. Also there are so many new amazing FPS's which are out anf they are not all the same e.g Team Fortress 2 and Call Of Duty 4.
