More Star Wars: Battlefront 3 footage released

Glad to see that LucasArts decided not to put their time and money into something like this, which looks pretty good and would generate a metric ass-tonne of sales due to popularity and demand. Instead they put their efforts into glorious masterpieces like this:

I died a little on the inside when i watched that vid. That game isn't even mediocre...stupid song uncomplicated moves............this just reminds me of how unfair the world is. I'm gonna go cry now T_T

Until Battlefront 3 is actually announced, all rumors and video leaks are complete bullshit. And I highly doubt that the game was 99% finished. If it was then we would have had it by now because it wouldn't have been canned that far into the project.

That's not Battlefront 3.

If none of you mentioned the name of the game in the footage, I would have thought it was pre-alpha footage of a new Republic Commando game. Just for the sole reason that this footage has you in first person mode, where battlefront 3 was ALWAYS third person mode.

If this was what Battlefront 3 could have turned out to be, than thank goodness it didn't come out. Otherwise, Battlefront 3 based on this footage, would have been a generic FPS like Republic Commando.

You could switch to first person in Battlefront 2. I don't know why you would want to, but you can.

I never did it in view so I assume it wasn't even in it when it first came out lol XD.

It was already said but you could play in first person in the other Battlefronts, the ability to change views was a very cool feature that most games dont have, so yeah... I guess if you played in TPS it was a good game but if you switched to FPS it would become generic. /sarcasm

Based on the footage in the OP, yeah, the game looked like a very generic (besides the wonderful flight/space combat bits) FPS game with a Star Wars skin on it. Especially since they didn't show ANY footage of the game in third person (besides once again, the space combat).

So I'm glad THIS game didn't get made. I hope they just start from scratch if they do decide to make a new Battlefront and make it in the way it's supposed to be with new updated features as well as updated graphics/animations and what not.

Compared to the seconds game first person shooting which was mindblowingly original?

This was leaked in 2009 and shows awesome stuff like going seamlessly into space from a ground map.

Yup. I remember this. What the OP posted isn't Battlefront 3. It sucked when I heard Free Radical got shut down and had to scrap the game. They're known as Crytek UK now.

So basically what Lucasarts did to them eventually cost Lucasarts their own hide in time.

Why does that sound like something Star Wars movie would do?, the master belittles and tortures his apprentice and in time the master himself gets struck down by a more powerful force.

Still seeing all this footage makes me cry inside knowing we had high hopes for almost a decade for this one fps game, this one fps that was supposed to be the chosen one to triumph all others and yet it got kicked around like a dead horse that hadn't even been milked to death yet.
