Dead State. A game that has been in production for about a year now (But they don't expect it to be ready to play until 2012. Just in time for the end of days, eh?)
A zombie game that gets back to the basics. There are no 'special' zombies that can run, climb buildings, shoot acid, have extendo-tongues, or anything. Just normal, slow, shambling zombies.
You don't get nice things, either. No magic or anything...and no. You can't dual wield chainsaws. (Depressing, I know, but maybe we'll get there one day.)
Still, even if you don't get to run around with your quad-barreled sawed off shotguns, how could slow, shambling meatsacks pose a threat? Well, zombies are the least of your concerns. While they can be deadly in large groups, the real threat will come from other survivors. Gunshots can easily attract the zombie hordes, so using firearms recklessly would prove to be very...unwise.
When it comes down to it, would you be able to send an infected young girl back into the undead infested streets because you need the last of the antibiotics to save yourself?
I know the game won't be out for a long while, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try and build support for it, right? 'Sides...I think a zombie game that gets back to the basis would be refreshing.
