Yes it's a great game there are just so many things to do in it. Take veriax's interactive let's play morrowind for exemple he's been doing it every sunday for two years and still has things to. so yes get it and kill as many cliffracers as you can :)

Yes, buy it! It was my first RPG. It's darker, so making out creatures is more difficult, which leads to the game being slightly more frightening. The combat's meh, but there are MANY dialogue trees and at least the people conversing don't seem like total morons. People whine about CLIFF RACERS, but I don't see anything wrong with CLIFF RACERS, as they were always fun to kill because they RACE around CLIFFS. Plus, they're about as frightening as Rakks in Borderlands, i.e. Easy to kill with a ranged weapon.

I think Morrowind is fun, but only after the very boring and slow start. There's a LOT of walking and the combat is annoying, but it is deeply immersive and rewards exploration.

It's an incredible game with a gorgeous, immersive world and a good story. Mod the graphics to bring them more up to date and play the hell out of it.

By the way, I like the fact that Morrowind doesn't hold your hand, that you start out on foot and actually have to follow directions and look around and explore. It seems like a steep learning curve at first but is in fact incredibly rewarding. To be wandering the wilderness and find something you never expected - an orc with an unusual request, a vampire lair, a giant stone fortress, a twisted temple, an escaped slave...

Depends...do you have the patience to figure out how skills/ levelling works? Otherwise you are likely to find yourself wondering why you CAN'T HIT a rat or a bug 9 times out of 10. Also: a good character build is essential.

The game is broken as hell though. If you know how (in a matter of hours) you can have like over 2 billion in every stat while still being on Level 1 (not recommended for the speed stat: you'll fly out of the level and crash the game) and that's just using the game mechanics (no cheats).

Morrowind was heaps of fun but Oblivion fixes some of the issues and is an improvement on graphics. Both are fun and are fairly similar and as equally as important to the story line of Skyrim as each other...no significance what so ever lol.

Its an open world RPG, lots of fun, can do lots of stuff and the side quests are normally a lot more interesting than the main story...which seems to be Bethesda's thing xD

Morrowind is hard to get into at first. You have to force yourself up the learning curve. But the initial effort is well worth the the payoff.

If you're like me, well, like I used to be before I started playing MMOs, then you would buy a game, and not buy another one until you beat it. (The exceptions, of course, being Fighting and Racing games, because you buy those to play with other people, and they hold no real interest for you if said other people aren't around.) You have my personal guarantee that this game will save you money for the next few months.

The world is expansive, and immersive, and fun to explore, and the Elder Scrolls series is one of the best examples of a Western RPG that we have to offer. Perhaps the most fun thing is that once you are given a quest objective, there is nothing holding you to that objective, and you're not getting reminders in the form of a support character jabbering in your ear every 10 seconds reminding you that should be following the path that the game wants you to take.

Pick it up. If you don't like it, then hey,.. You're only out 4 bucks.

I should slap that hesitation out of you. It's seriously the best Elder Scrolls game released so far. We'll have to wait and see if Skyrim dethrones it.

Buy it, dont listen to what idiots say. Cause if you say Morrowind is bad chances are you are one.
Morrowind is the greatest RPG ive ever played without all these sissy new school "character interactions" that is alls o important to them and a Storyline that actually is interresting.

I've haven't played morrowind much (played the xbox version and I just couldn't get over the really choppy FPS and the loading times when I tried to play it on the 360), but I could easily say that it's definately worth a go if you get the PC version, especially since you can pretty much mod away most of the problems you may have with the game.

There is a lot of running at the start though, at least I think there is, but there is LOTS of stuff to do on the game.

its one of my all time favourtite games!! and i had it for xbox without the mods!!

cliff racers are a pain, (sung to ghost buster theme)if you healths going down, and you down know why, guess who it is? CLIFF RACER!

also its best not to always attack on sight, just be wary of scary orcs, especially UMBRA!

and if its still factory sealed means you get a map of the world with it, id advise using it lol, helped me alot =]

If you are going to play morrowind, you need to know one thing. It didnt age well. You will NEED a lot of mods to play it :p

But if you mod it out right, its awesome. There are a lot of awesome mods on morrowind, a lot better than those on oblivion. But base game is kinda.... dull, bugged, and unbalanced. But if you ask me, 4 usd for that game is a good deal. Very good in fact. Go for it. But iirc its not so well optimized, so you will need mods for that as well :p

It's a good game, well worth at least a look. It's not as good as Oblivion, but they are so similar that it's a pretty meaningless comparison.

FUCK YES, Morrowind is the BEST of the Elder scrolls series, it's open world with crazy epic shit to do. I had it for xbox, bought it twice, regular and Game of the Year, and I spent over 300 hours on it, and not with only one file, I had like 6 just to try things differently. The world is huge, the random NPCs are pretty boring, but there are some really interesting ones too. So, yes, it's great even by modern standards. My friend has a $1,000 laptop that's only 2 years old, and it runs fine for him.
And finally, Morrowind is better than oblivion by just about every fans standards, and the two are totally different than Fallout 3.
I hate ibn people say 'just about everyone' because this is such a great over exaggteration. I have played every elder scrolls game and I found morrowind to be the worst of them all. At the time, morrowind was a fun new rpg, but it simply doesn't hold up today unless all you care about is the story (which I agree is better than most).

Here are some fun opinions I have of the game

Many fans complain oblivion was simply a copy pasted meadow over and over, morrowind was worst in my opinion because it was the same thing, except with swamps instead.

Morrowind was very big world, but not in a good way at all. It wasn't big in the 'wow this worst is so expansive and fun and there is so much to do and explore!' kind of way, but in the 'jesus, I have been walking in this swamp for to hours trying to find this town and the last interesting thing to happen was a mage falling from the sky in the first 30 minutes of the game' kind of way

Combat was terrible and was MUCH better in oblivion.

Many fans complain about how pauldrons were taken out of the game in oblivion and morrowid had much more customization, well this if mostly compensated for by the fact the armor look GORGEOUS in comparison

Morrowind armor: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Imperial_Steel_Armor#Imperial_Steel_Armor

Oblivion armor: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Steel_Armor#Heavy_Armor_Images

Alot of the jitboxes were terrible or glitchy: Example: CliffRacers

alot of the enemies were completely idiotic with their powers: Example: Bonewalker with stackable debuff that makes it so cannot move ebcause you are over encumbered for a good ten minutes

Many Fans also seem to complain about the addition of fast travel in oblivion, claiming it made the game to easy: Solution: Don't use it?

I could continue going down this list but I think you get my point. I am a huge fan of the elder scrolls and I prefer to speak for myself.
