At least, I did after I switched to the d-pad. otherwise, instead of a bicycle kick, he began kicking at the dust like a fucking chicken. Gaah!

I love it, I have been playing it the past 3 days now. I can say I hate Shao Khan though, he can suck a giant lightning bolt. The worst part is trying to beat him as Raiden you are relegated to teleporting about until you get an opening while trying not to run out of time.

The single player content is good so you're missing out there unfotunately. But the online component is a complete joke. It simply doesn't work at all.

Just curious but why? The only thing I have to go by are Youtube vids. One thing that I have noticied are people who spam ranged attacks.

What I do from now on... Is avoid him like the plauge... Then when he taunts, run up and 3 hit knock down combo... then run away again. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.

Played it with my friend who kills me every time (he's pretty good at fighters while I suck), but I still had a good time. I'd recommend it.
Oh, and he complains about Shao Khan as well. I watched him fight the guy, and his x-ray did like 52% damage or something along those lines? I was just like "good luck with that one bud".

Story is actually there but it is pretty hard. 2 v 1 fights make me wanna kick small animals and I think it is on a fixed difficulty.

Wow... That sucks.. He atleast went creative when he *****-slapped me. Here was the fight. (I do one round... Its realistic XD)

Hammer throw that staggers, another hammer throw that staggers. SPEAR THROW! SPEAR THROW! Shoulder Charge. THEN! To finish me off... he did this.....

Story Mode is really all I've had time to play so far. It's been fun... right up until you're put in control of a fresh character you never played in the older games, and expected to beat two opponents tag-teaming you.

Goddamn 1v2 battles can piss right off.

I had to try Scorpion and Quan chi fight for like an hour. I want to love this game but I've seen a 12 year old spam special moves less than what the CPU does. I had those two spam there fucking assist and tag attack for like 20 second straight as I just stood there and blocked. WHAT IN THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO!

you know what I got when I beat it, had to fight Goro as he jungle stomps the ground and take hits like a champ...and it only gets harder from there.

Awesome game though. Just never been put on the fence for a game like this before.

Online is a great experience.

Ridiculously hard, I can tell you that. Especially the above mentioned boss fights and some broken challenge tower missions.

Speaking of the challenge tower, can we talk about how ABSOLUTELY BULLSHIT THE REWARD IS!?

The reward for beating the tower is an alternate costume for Milena, where her only clothes are a couple bandages.

SHE HAS KNIVES FOR TEETH. I don't want to see her half naked. I don't even use that character! And what about the female audience? What do they get? Very disappointing.

Actually, I think my biggest gripe with the game is that Kira isn't in it.
I liked Kira.
Oh, and the females need to put some goddamn clothes on.

Anyone played it yet? Don't want to get it and regret it, been let down by many MK games in a past

It is amazing. A real reform for the MK series.

It's not just Shao Khan, the game in general at the greater end of the difficulty specturm is just fucking C for cheap.

I actually breezed right through the story mode. It's eeeeeeeaaaaaasssssy.

I love the new Mortal Kombat game but the one thing I dislike about it is how Shao khan, Goro, and Kintaro are unplayable characters. I don't understand why they are unplayable characters either. I know they are boss characters but if I beat them in story or arcade mode I should be able to use them. I hope that sometime later on they come out as DLC characters.
