(Championship) nee Football Manager. Since 1993 i've played this game almost every day. I don't think any other game has kept me playing for 17 years.

Personally it would be Resident Evil 2 (Over 100 playthroughs), Resident Evil 4 (Around 30 playthroughs), Oblivion (over 100 hours), or Fallout 3 (also over 100 hours). I usually put alot of time into a game if I enjoy it though.

I played Tetris 2 with my older brother so much that I started lining up things in real life in my head.
'That's red, it goes over there, yellow over there, blue turn it sideways over there.' That was seriously a nightmare. Oh, and Street Fighter 2. We had Street Fighter marathons like nobody's business. It has been forever since I stayed up all night playing a game. Fallout 3 comes the closest to my obsession days.

Warship Gunner 2.

"Ok, I've finally got this warship set up perfectly! Time for bed."
(Research Complete!)
"Oooo! A new weapon... Oh hell, 1 more run..."
(Some time later)
"Ok, NOW it's perfect!"
(Research Complete!)
"Oooo! A new ship!"
(...)
"Why is it 4 in the morning?"

It WAS San Andreas but I've moved on to online fps'
I actually moved from online fpss to San Andreas when I got my ps2.
I would have to say top prize would have to go to either San An or Fallout 3. I wanted to explore every inch of those games. Online fpss tend to snare me in for an hour or two before I got to chill.
These are of course recent examples, in my youth, the original Phantasy Star games (especially 2 & 4) sucked my time away.

Starcraft, back in the day when I was taking it seriously and practicing for LAN tours. I averaged about 1000 games a month.

nethack.

I bet anyone who has been here long enough to see me post a lot is completely unsurprised.

I STILL PLAY IT!

In fact I'm just ascending another tourist right now at work. And I have a Flame Mage on the go in slash'em as well.

Fun times.

Also starcraft and Command and Conquer Renegade.

Lunar: Silver Star (both Sega CD and PSX versions kept me up 'til 5am to finish them)
Fallout 3 (probably about 450 hrs and climbing)
Mass Effect 1&2 (beat 1 about 7-8 times, 2 will surpass that)
Madden/NBA2k
Dragon Age/KOTOR 1&2 (Bioware owns my soul)
Chrono Trigger (best of all times)

Overall........gotta say Fallout 3. Might not be my favorite game, or the best at any particular thing, but I keep going back for more. I haven't even gotten 3/5 of the DLC yet.

Tetris. There's no doubt about it.
Luckily I had a version for my phone so I could play it when I traveled by any public transport or just when bored.
I've been tetris-free in half a year now, and I think the addiction is wearing of.
