I'm probably going to get a lot of flak for this, but that would probably be Halo with SMB3 being a close second.

Sheer gameplay fun.
Saints Row 2- Low gravity + Never Die + Pimp Slap = awesomeness. If you don't know what I'm talking about, play that game. Right. Now.

Just Cause 2- Needs no further explanation.
Aww, ninja'd

Red Dead Redemption and GTA're also pretty awesome too, but not nearly as free and infinite happiness well-like as SR2 and JC2.

Bioshock has this effect on me. The first time though was all about the story and emotion, and the other times are just experimenting with all the different plasmids and tonics and shit.

Saints Row 2, I still call GTA fanboys idiots for not giving the game a shot. Saints Row is more like GTA than GTA is now...my head hurts.

Garry's Mod. Just Garry's Mod.

Spawn stuff, build stuff, shoot, explode and pose stuff. Then download more stuff and do it all over again.

Also Minecraft.

^^;; Those were two of my choices too. Saint's Row 2 and Just Cause 2 are halarious fun.

I love RPGs to death, but as enjoyable and immersive as they can be, as many times as I like to replay my favorite stories, they aren't as stupid, pure fun as those two.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. It was the first time I really enjoyed an open world RPG. I was confused by Morrowind because when I was exposed to it, I was rather young. But I poured almost 200 hours into Oblivion, and I am so, so pumped for Skyrim.

This site's hate on multiplayer really bums me out sometimes...

Dawn of War series
Great Scott, not just another fan of RTS, but a fan of Dawn of War, here, on The Escapist! Glorious day!

OT: Just like the above fellow, the Dawn of War games have always been a personal favorite of mine.

I'd also be remiss to not mention games like Mass Effect 2 and Fallout 3, single player only games where I've sunk hundreds of hours into each one.

Hmm that's a very tough one. Three-way tie between Morrowind, Black and White, and the Super Smash Bros series most likely.

Ha! Black and White was hilarious! Hours of abusing the animal made for a great evil being. Good shit. I miss that game.

Jak 2. When you master the sky punch, down smash infinite repeat, it gets hilarious.
Fuck yeaaahhhhh
Also the amazingly high amount of useful glitches in both 2 and 3. 1 was pretty bug-free, though.

Also Morrowind, and Zeno Clash.

Just Cause 2 recently...I spent hours flying around in the harrier shooting whatever building I saw.
Also spent a full hour taking a motorized boat thingy down one of the rivers. The game is fucking beautiful.

Darkstar One: Broken Alliance, basically it's a space game with a real-time economy, pirate invasions, cargo escorts, and over 300 different planets with different economies. I know it sounds boring but it is EPIC!
