Pretty much any achievement you obtain for finishing a level normally, something you can't avoid doing. It's a patronising pat on the back and I really dislike when games do this.

Probably the most annoying ones I'm currently working on are the "50 speech successes", "50 computers hacked", and "Nuka Cola Challenge" ones in Fallout 3.

Really? Save and quit before a speech check. Press B to back out of a computer if you're about to fail it, and look for places with sentry turrets, as those have consoles to hack to turn them off. There's also lots of hidden computers in Rivet City.

As far as the Nuka-Cola challenge goes, there's at least one Quantum near every bobblehead or behemoth. Nearly every location has one, if you give it a thorough search. If you have Broken Steel, there's also a new perk that turns 10 Nuka Cola into a Quantum.

That one was easy,but yet again I used a glitch to kill it.

Was it on the survival mode near the crane? Its so easy to get it on there.

All achievements are annoying for one and only one reason: the single-handedly kill the immersion of a single-player game. I don't have a problem with achievements in a multiplayer game, but if you're trying to get through the single-player campaign, the last thing that I want to see is a little message box ANYWHERE on the screen telling me that I've unlocked some bloody stupid achievement that I never really cared about to begin with.

You can turn that message notification off.

Problem solved. Nothing to complain about.

The flag achievements in Assassins Creed. These flags are easy to miss and you have no hints to as to where they are. You have to constant travel back and forth searching every nook and cranny to find them. If you miss even 1 measly flag you could end up searching the entire fucking city before you find it.

I have no idea how anyone could get those achievements without a guide. Even then it would be a long and tedious process.

In other words, it's just bad game design.

I totally agree! It took me weeks to find all of these as I didn't want to use a guide and the worst bit of all, you weren't rewarded for getting them! I think they should have unlocked the crossbow Altair used in the opening cut-scene!

Tim, you know we shouldn't allow the character to just step, punch, kick, or knife the birds. They should only be able to die by a gun.
Yeah, and make sure there's always a cop nearby to hear the shot!

The 5G ones in Ninja Gaiden 2, you get 5 for doing the entire game with just that one weapon, i couldn't even be bothered doing it once for 100G, but again and again for 5 each?
