The Fable 1 guildmaster is annoying but I think the time bombs from Red Alert 3 can take his place. I know theyre not a character, but theyre still REALLY annoying

Mr. Resetti - It got to the point where I'd reset during his speech just to see how he'd react. Listen, mac, I paid for this game, I'll reset it whenever I damn well please.

Daisy - She doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than acting as Peach's partner for doubles tennis or kart racing, and seems to lack the mental capacity for even that. Outside of a few grunts of satisfaction/frustration, the only words I've ever heard her say are "Hi, I'm Daisy!"

FLUDD - I'm not saying it wasn't a fun tool to use, but did it really need a voice?

Bentley (Sly Cooper) - There are a lot of points throughout the game that you couldn't pass without Bentley's help, but he's got this whiny, nasally voice that really gets on my nerves.
dude, I frickin loved bently! sure his voice could get old, but his lines were pure gold. "behold the majesty of gravity and inertia!!" what annoyed me was his lame ass hacking minigame in sly 2.

I can't believe I've read five pages of "Navi, Navi, Navi" and not one person has mentioned Tingle. At least Navi was only in one game... *shudder*

Aaah these conversations crop up all too often. Lets face it, there are some really annoying characters out there. Think developers get a kick out of making us scream in annoyance?

If you check one of loading screens on Fable 2 it says something along the lines of "Around the time Jack was found dead within the Heroes Guild, so too was the Guildmaster. He was found with 'Warning, your health is low' Carved into his head."
Made me laugh for ages. Means even the developers were aware of how annoying he really was.
Ironic thing is most people didn't notice that you could turn off his talking in the options menu. =P

One guess to the character who boils my blood in sheer irritation.
Heres a clue; "Hey look! Listen, over here! Look! HEY!! HEY, listen!"

god i feel annoyed just thinking about it...

EDIT: to johnx61 I don't see any issue with Aerith either, she was a decent character and was certainly a big story focus, well until she dies ofc.
Which was something i haven't seen in RPGs often. A very moving, if not visually amazing, cutscene.

Probably Tidus from FFX. It was a great game but all the whining and sooking that he did really detracted from it in the end. I had a little respect for him by the end with his determination to not let Yuna die but he was still one hell annoying main character

the voice didn't help yuna annoyed me a lot because of the voice actress.

Tidus sure did have one annoying whiny voice. Yuna was better, she had sort of an innocent quality with a voice like that (I'm also probably thinking that as the story was geared around her being the innocent summoner that is going to die). Whoever voiced Auron had that character spot on though

Ok 5 pages in an NOBODY has metion Otis from Dead Rising? I've got 500 zombies tryign to chew on my leg and he gets pissy that I stopped listening to his long speeches about people trapped somewhere dumb? What happened to SHORT and focused communication? Not rambling on and on before you finally get to the point. Capcom: That isn't "flavour" or "atmosphere", merely time to sack all your play-testers and hire some who give actual feed-back.

And Areis was a bit emo, why Cloud didn't nail Tifa is a mystery

Would have been Navi (LoZ). But yesterday Price (CoD4)managed to make me hate him so much more.

"The javelin is in the barn!"
"Soap, get the javelin!"
"The javelin is in the barn!"
"Soap, get the..."

"Friendly fire will not be tolerated"

i started playing Phantasy Star Universe again on Monday and damn near every character in that game is a pain in the ass. first of all. every character has this stupid little animation they do before anything happens. "i have to touch my hair and throw my hands down all hard core" or this annoying dance the women do. I just want to hit them. not just hit, Curb stomp. but the one that annoys me the most is Ethan's little sister, Lumia. and it started in the first 15 minutes. let me give you an example

Colony was just attacked. Ethan and Lumia are in the Linear Line.
They hear a rumble
Ethan: "Lumia, quick, run to me"
Lumia: "I can't, I'm to scared"
Rubble falls. Lumia turns and ruins the opposite direction a good minute before the rubble falls

Now i have to run the long way around the damn colony just to get her dumbass

One of my friends believes after FFVII and FFVIII they had a formula and just stuck to it, neglecting innovation in the process. FFX was a rehashing of that formula but even then it was still likable. It's also why FFXII was such a poor game in comparison to the rest of the series, you didn't feel empathy for the characters or their situation as you'd seen it all before and they were nothing new or special. Prehaps FFXIII can remedy this
