I excluded him because he is an exception as I was a fan of scrubs long before I was a fan of house (and scrubs was around first). There are differences between the characters but practically none on the surface. Eastenders (actually, make that all soaps apart from Coronation Street, which isn't exactly cerebral but at leats it's funny and usually not too over the top)
Gok's Fashion Fix
Anything with Gok Wan in
Strictly Come Dancing and its innumerable clones

TV in general.... Reality TV, MTV (especially that show Teen Moms... yeah, let's take a bunch of 16 year old irresponsible crack whores and just see how they do... That's quality entertainment) John and Kate plus 8, Octomom, and dumb-ass commercials with jingles. Like those FreeCreditReport.com and $5 Footlong Commercials. Funny the first time... the next 80 trillion times, not so funny anymore.

Prior to that, the one that springs to mind is the old set-top digital box advert that featured two kids in some South American slum arguing about who got to pretend to be Michael Owen for an hour or two that day. It ended with: "The EUFA Champions' League. IT MATTERS."
There was something else happening that year that I, personally, thought a little more important. It involved Kosovo.
