Fucking everyone in White Knight Chronicles. They started growing on me, but that scene after the fight with the three Gigases, I just...just...just read the spoiler tag.

I'll explain some plot basics before I get to the good part. Princess Cisna has been kidnapped by a Sauron ripoff and a fat guy with an evil, twirly mustache. Leonard and a party consisting of a girl, an old guy, another girl and your own created character are on a quest to save her. After a battle with three Gigases, they rescue the princess. They start celebrating their victory, but then the magic happens. One of your party members, Kara, leaves Cisna to join the rest of the party in their celebration. Then the bad guys swoop down in their huge black airship and re-kidnap Cisna, while everyone else stares in awe. That, my friends, IS THE WORST GODDAMN WAY TO KEEP YOUR FUCKING STORY GOING FOR ANOTHER GOD KNOWS HOW MANY MOTHERFUCKING HOURS!!! AAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGGGGHHHH!!! I HATE IT!! I HATE IT!! I HATE THIS GAME!!

Silent characters like Link from the Zelda series just kill the game for me. Nothing is more annoying than a main character who couldn't be any flatter if he were just a piece of paper taped to your tv screen.

Commander shepard. Fuck you and your plot armour.
The entire squad in BFBC2. I just ated them all, SP was terrible.
Evryone in gears was just unlikable.
..whats wrong with shepard?

do you plot armour as in he/she dies but came back to life?
Slightly off topic but your avatar is AWESOME

OT:bc2 squad members bc1 was alright though
ha thanks :)

now if only the customization in the game was that flexible :(

Ninjaed for Tidus and Bayonetta (Sorry, I'm a chick and it bugs me to see SO much pandering, even if it is tongue in cheek and silly. It's bloody annoying).

But to add to the list anyway, I'll go with Issun from Okami. He NEVER shuts the fuck up and you can only sort of speed through his dialogue...not ever just SKIP the damn thing. You also can't hurt him unlike every other character in the game (which you can at least bite)

Cole McGrath from Infamous 2. I liked Cole from the first Infamous. I know his character was a bit bland but with the voice change it's like a complete personality switch. Now this jaded lightning superhero is more like an emotional frat boy. No thanks.

Commander Shepard and his baffling inability to recreate actual human emotion, instead always coming across as standoffish and talking unemotively no matter what the situation.

Like on Horizon when Ashley meets him, the man she loved, for the first time in two years after believing him to be dead and gone softly embraces him and says in an almost tearful way:
"I thought you were dead Shepard... we all did."
To which Shepard lets go a second later and opens with the brilliant line:
"It's good to see you again Williams, how have you been?"

Seriously, that had to be the WORST way to greet a grieving love interest ever spoken at any point ever and it made me want to punch Shepard in his grinning face. What kind of stupid mind would ever think that was an appropriate way to respond to this situation?
I'm not in the least bit surprised that Ashley yelled at Shepard after that, I was yelling at Shepard after that.

CoD knockoff, no BF is not a CoD knockoff.
I love Battlefield. Especially BF2, and 2142. BC2 is a CoD knockoff. 2 Weapon limit, classless play, regenerating health. (I'm referring to the singleplayer, the MP is vastly better than the SP) Vehicle sections and a military setting. Yes, it's a CoD knockoff, and an annoying one, because Battlefield can rise above imitating the competition, just look at BF3.

I can't think of a personal reason to really hate characters. But I can hate them for their sheer lack of stupidity gameplay wise. Like dropping a meter and apparently breaking every single, stinking bone in their body. Characters like that are what really tick me off. Whilst these guys are able to take bullets like a boss, but gravity makes them their ***** from no matter which height.

Don't know if this counts, but...

My character in Guildwars, (I don't play anymore, because I've matured, and reailsed that the game is crap.) Mot The God. I played warrior, and have played GW right from the start (5ish years), and saved up all my in game pennies to buy a set of super cool armour; one of the most expensive in the game, then proceed to dye it black (the most expensive dye in the game), then runed it fully with expensive runes. Anyway, a few months after I'd finally saved up enough money and bought my armour for the extortionate price that it was, Anet decided to do a complete armour re-haul and made the armour that I bought a few months back THE CHEAPEST GODDAMN ARMOUR FOR WARRIORS, so all the noobs (I know, I know...) were running around in pretty much exactly what I was wearing, except they got it for cheaper.

I dunno, it just really pissed me off.

Actually, talking about Guildwars kinda makes me want to play it again.. Anyone else feeling like this, message me on here xD

Peace and Brains :)
Wow. that sounds like a pretty big dick move. Why did they do that?

Gordon Freeman, Ramirez, and every silent FPS protagonist ...

I HATE that they have absolutely no say in the matter, that they are always forced to do everything ...

I like to imagine they had their vocal cords removed as part of the recruitment procedure. otherwise half-life2 would never happen because gordon woukld just say "I Have no idea how o use a fucking gun" wow this post is a trainwreak.

The Mako.

I think Shepard's Mako has been sabotaged and it's Mass Effect drive replaced by a Bounce Effect drive.

It's like the thing is entirely made out of rubber. And sometimes when you enter it it goes flying into the atmosphere and you get a critical mission failure....

On some playthroughs I die more often due to bouncing Makos then due to anything else.

Shepard was brought back for no reason, the "hs a symbol" is BS.
I hate the fact that a story must be ruined for him to survive and win. I find less plotholes in halo than mass effect.
I have to disagree.

It's a legitimate reason.

Being considered a symbol is by no means something to just slap away as worthless. Joan of Arc, Martin Luther King Jr, JFK... you get the point. ALL of them were symbols for their movements. Widely recognized & respected, almost to a legendary status. If a organization could successfully bring any of those people back to life, personality and memories in check, and have that person represent their organization... that would be a HUGE boost to their cause.

Shepard was the face of the anti-Reaper movement, of humanity's first step of becoming a respected species in the universe, especially by becoming the first human spectre. Bringing Shepard back to life and having him work for Cerberus would be a HUGE boost in their reputation, and would bring a face & legitimacy to their opposition of the Collectors (how many people joined the crew, ONLY because it was being led by Shepard?).

edit: OT: Ezio from ACII. God, was he an arrogant bastard (with an extremely annoying accent), especially in the beginning. I finally came to like him by Brotherhood though... might be why I enjoyed it so much more.

So yeah, that's my two-cents. I don't find it a plot hole at all.

For some reason, I've been answering a lot of threads today with Resident Evil 5. There's a boss fight where every other second, Chris will repeat lines like:

"Jill, what're you doing!?"
"C'mon Jill, snap out of it!"
"Stop this, Jill! Answer me!"

It doesn't sound as bad in text as it actually is.

The thing that annoys me most about a game protagonist? When they're male. Always with the male. Sometimes it isn't so bad. But usually, I find it annoying enough that I won't want to buy the game.

Oh, and most of the females aren't an improvement.
