Most annoying "waits" for a game

AAAARGH!

Ever since I first was intrigued by torchlight's announcement for xbox live, looked up a little more about it, and decided I couldn't live without it, I have been waiting for it. And waiting. And waiting.

Yes, I may have only been waiting for around a month now, but that was one damn long month. There I sat watching hard corps and bejewelled trundle by as i pondered whether I could possibly care less. Even the arrival of beyond good and evil hd hasnt lessened my need for it (has to be said though, it's every bit as good as everyone said it was.).

And now I am also waiting for fortress craft as my laptop pretty much serves as an Internet browser only. Just.

So to lessen my frustrations, what times can you remember waiting out a few bored weeks for a particular game for which you couldn't even find a good substitute?

Ps I apologise for any spelling errors or odd phrases. I'm using my iPod to post here for the first time.

Running the risk of being very obvious, I'd name Half-Life Episode 3.

Oh, and the Last Guardian. The wait is pure anguish!

I was a little bit disappointed I'd be waiting until May to get my hands on DNF - I thought the release date would be sooner when they finally announced it. But hey, it's already been 14 years.

Waiting for Halo Reach to come out after the beta closed was tough.

For me, as of now, L.A. Noire, The Old Republic, Zelda: Skyward Sword, Half Life 2: Episode 3, Mass Effect 3, Assassin's Creed 3, and, although it isn't concrete, whatever they have in store for the Halo series next.

Still waiting around for FF Versus XIII that was announced at the exact same time but is seriously becoming SE's Duke Nukem Forever.

If you think Torchlight is going to be a really good Diablo type game, prepare for major disappointment. I bought it for $3 on Steam over the Holidays. I played about 30 minutes of it. it is a horrible game. See Yahtzee's review on it, pretty much spot on.

The team Ico collection. I'm not even sure what the exact release date is, but it's killing me to wait so long for shadow of the colossus. I'll try Ico out eventually, but really, the collection is worth it for just shadow of the colossus in HD.

I know how you feel since I was like that until yesterday. (I mean I really was counting the days away until it had come out.)

I suppose the next annoying wait for me is probably Guild Wars 2.

Anybody here heard of Diablo III? If you were playing since Diablo and Diablo II you'll know how we've been waiting over several years and have had it in production.. scrapped and around four or five years later have it put back in to production and then have it NOT announced at blizzcon t'other year there.
