Warning: Potential spoilers may ensue. You have been warned.

We've all had them. Those moments when the adrenaline was pumping, everything was rushing to one grand moment of do-or-die glory...and then it all just ends. No climax, no triumphant feeling, no pinnacle of achievement...the adrenaline dies, replaced by an abrupt attack of the "WTF?" virus. So, Escapists, what was your most anticlimactic gaming experience, whether due to plotline inconsistencies, piss-easy boss fights, or just a general feeling that the experience wasn't worth all the effort you put into getting there?

Mine would have to be the "final" showdown between you and Colonel Autumn in the purifier...the option to talk him into leaving, plus his ridiculous easiness even on Very Hard, ruined any kind of climactic feel the scene was supposed to convey.

You stole mine OP.

I suppose another one would be the ending to The Saboteur. I kind of just blankly stared and went "Was that it?".

The end of MW2.

I was all tensed up at those final moments and it just promptly ends with no real ending whatsoever.

Man it was a real killjoy for me.

You played to the end of Saboteur, you are a more patient and forgiving man than I.

The end of Halo ODST was pretty meh. Halo 3 ended with a pretty fun vehicle sequence. ODST ended with an amaziboring vehicle sequence. Left me with the overwhelming feeling of "well, at least I bought it used for cheap"

I actually quite enjoyed it, so I had no problem finishing it. I actually thought that the ending came pretty quickly, but then again I was pretty sleep deprived, and I can't exactly remember much leading up to the ending. :)

you shoot/hit the guy once and he dies....
....i want my time back.

Ummmmm im going to go with the ending of Spore. Well technically the game has no end but its the final objective. Its the guy at the centre of the universe. I mean seriously? I travelled all the way for THAT?!

Fighting Dracula in Castlevania : SotN

At that point you either have the Crissaegrim or Muramasa and they shred through enemies like butter.

Then you fight Dracula and you can beat him in under 8 seconds.

Titan quest: Big climactic fight, you just barely kill the titan. And then:
Jack all

I know, right. All that work and that's the best ending they could come up with? I traveled to Sol expecting that maybe the center of the Universe was just the beginning of an epic adventure or something, but no. That was it. F*** you Maxis. (Flotilla had a better story and combat, but it only cost me $10.

borderlands. what a crappy lacklustre ending. I totally felt ripped off, like there was no point to playing the game after.

tetris. lol, but seriously, dino crisis 2. one of my favorite games ever, but for the final boss fight, you just hit a button on the other side of the room, and an orbital lazor destroys the boss.

Dont even get me started on that. I went there expecting to find maybe theyd have a human style society there as a parody type thing. The place was bloody empty and I was like "So I have to make humans now to?"

Bethesda seems to be notorious for unsatisfying endings...I mean,
Dagoth Ur just kind of stands there while you whack the Heart of Lorkhan. At least Almalexia put up a fight in Tribunal.
Or...
To quote my ex-wife, "You mean the ending is an escort mission and a cutscene? You don't get to kill that big red thing?"
And...
The crazy thing is that you can Talk the Monster To Death not once, but TWICE! Eden AND Autumn! And before Broken Steel came out, that was it, game over, thanks for playing, should we steal your ten bucks now or just wait until we're done with the DLC?
Despite this, all three games are in my all-time favorite top ten.

I'm surprised I played as long as I did. The only reason I even made it to the center was because of a wormhole. *At least earth had some pink spice, I needed more floor cleaner.*
