Wow, I got SimuLord to comment. I'm very slightly honored.SimuLord said:Bethesda seems to be notorious for unsatisfying endings...I mean,
Or...Dagoth Ur just kind of stands there while you whack the Heart of Lorkhan. At least Almalexia put up a fight in Tribunal.
And...To quote my ex-wife, "You mean the ending is an escort mission and a cutscene? You don't get to kill that big red thing?"
Despite this, all three games are in my all-time favorite top ten.The crazy thing is that you can Talk the Monster To Death not once, but TWICE! Eden AND Autumn! And before Broken Steel came out, that was it, game over, thanks for playing, should we steal your ten bucks now or just wait until we're done with the DLC?
OT: Should've mentioned Oblivion, really...got even worse for me when I discovered that the decision wasn't even an abrupt turnaround--Dagon has no death animations. There wasn't ever a point when the idea of "hey, let's let the player have a go at being significant for once" crossed the minds of the dev team. One more reason why I prefer Shivering Isles.
