Ya but those Velociraptors are a good four times bigger than they actually ever were. Utahraptors are about the same size as the raptors in the film (if not, a bit bigger).

Indeed! Truely nothing can beat this. Also that it's Calvin & Hobbes, and really.. there's no beating that.
One of my favorite Calvin and Hobbs comics. It's hilarious how ridiculous it is.

Ugh. No. No no no no.

The Jurassic Park "Velociraptor" is not a Velociraptor. Veloiciraptor, meaning "swift thief" was about TWO FEET TALL. Scary. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velociraptor)

They called the Jurassic Park raptor the Velociraptor, because people couldn't be bothered to learn how to pronounce "Deinonychus" ("terrible claw"), which was closer to size depicted in the movies (although still a little small). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinonychus)

Of course, there is Utahraptor, but thats far bigger than the movies showed. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utahraptor)

I hate it when people quote Jurassic Park as being the reason they like velociraptor. It's an insult to paleontologists and all us Deinonychus lovers.

velociraptor the first creature to hunt in packs how awesome is that
And this is not even remotely true. I quote "Therefore, while Velociraptor is commonly depicted as a pack hunter, as in Jurassic Park, there is only limited fossil evidence to support this theory for dromaeosaurids in general, and none specific to Velociraptor itself. The pack hunting theory was based on a discovery of several specimens of Deinonychus found around the remains of a Tenontosaurus".

So not only was it not the first pack hunter, but Velociraptor probably wasn't even a pack hunter.

edit 2: In fact, pretty much everything you thought was awesome about Velociraptor is really Deinonychus.

It depends. The velociraptors depicted in the movie actually were a lot bigger than actual raptors, which were roughly around the size of turkeys. Like the fat little kid at the beginning of the movie said.

BUT! I'll give you that the fucking dinosaurs in Jurassic Park were awesome.

EDIT: Damn, ninjaed!

Everyone knows dinosaurs are fucking awesome. But which dinosaur is the awesomeonomonomest . . . The awesomeollononomenemest . . . The awesomestumunololomesterestumuist . . . The coolest?
Personally, I think the most awesome dinosaur is the pterodactyl Tyrannosaurus in an F-14. DEATH FROM THE SKY, FUCKAS!
Ankylosaurus. The ting was built like a tank. Armor all round, and a tail that could crack the bones of any dinos out there. And if it doesn't want to fight? Then it just sits down and waits for the pred give up

Though the Deinonychus is a close second with it's brains, maneuverability, and ridiculously scary foot-claw

The big armor plated dinosaur I can't think of its name. It has the giant club tail.

Ankylosaurus ftw. I am also partial to that herbivorous prehistoric M1 Abrams.

Even if they theorize that it was an herbivore, Therizinosaurus will always have a special place in my heart.

I'd say Wexter, he's got machine guns for arms, cop sunglasses, breaths fire, and has a super duper fast fight.
