I would have to say the Gravity Gun from Half-Life and the Portal Gun.

In spite of all the cool gadgets and high tech firearms that people seem to be displaying across this thread, i have to give my best weapons ever award to something less complicated yet proven to be the most effective tool of its time.

From The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker: Light Arrows

Aquired near the end of Link's quest, the Light Arrow was the only way to proceed throught Ganon's Tower, and the only thing to truly kill Phantom Ganon.

I am telling you, after hours of tedious sword fighting with powerful enemies that, even with the Master Sword, were annoying to fight over and over again, being able to just end their exsistence with a single arrow was more satisfying than any high powered bulky supercharged techy gun from the future.

technology came from my research in

now it certainly comes in handy in popping off
the heads of alien invaders. Funny, eh? Just
toss the bomb and watch 'em come running to
it! They maybe ruthless scavengers from
space, but they have little chance of avoiding
the alluring elements of this bomb! I've added
sections to it that resemble the aliens
themselves so you will not fall under the
bomb's near-hypnotic spell.

I personally liked the Lancer from the Gears series, its very versatile, and that in my opinion makes a really good gun.

That or maybe the throwing knives from Assassins Creed, knives that i can throw AND melee extremely fast with? sign me up!
