Some people are really into those train simulators. I heard a guy on a radio talk show who would watch 8 hour long video of nothing but the front view of a freight train going from point A to point B. I mean he really got off on it. There must be a market for that. Then there are the people who play Microsoft Flight Simulator and pretend to fly a 747 for hours. I don't know maybe the rest of us are all over-stimulated to the point where we can't enjoy stuff like this.

Then again maybe we are normal.

Halo CE. The environments were too repetitive, and as a previous Nintendo fan, I expected a lot of variation in my environments.
What the fuck do you mean "Nintendo" fan? Microsoft made halo.

I meant that I had previously played Nintendo games, and I was used to jumping between radically different locales every couple of minutes.
I am well aware that Microsoft, which is apparently the new name for Bungie Studios, made Halo.

soul caliber 4 or any fighting game like that
Thats hardly fair saying that as all fighting games are more or less the same unless you mean ones with weapons although it is your opinion so I'll say no more.

cod 4 & world at war

i mean the story of cod 4 was short as hell
and online after you get into prestige you can basically say online Just keeps repeating itself to the point you fingers start to bleed along with eyes
The story in CoD4 wasn't short comparitively speaking to other recent shooters unless you played it on easy the online wasn't boring atleast not for me but I had it on the PC and we thankfully didn't have prestige and have much greater freedom for setting up games and much more.

Games I thought were boring were Bullet Witch as the game was hard to get into and was very short. The characters weren't particularly likeable.
Far Cry2 was a good game to start off but just repeated itself a bit too much for me.
Cheers for the 'its your opinion' line cos most people dont do that and I will admit I do play soul caliber 4 a lot but I do think I play it and go this is boring game and I know its boring but i will still play it . However i will agree that the mixture fighting games ( capcom vs marvel and dc vs martal combat ) I am very very interested in

Try renting the sequel, maybe you'll have better luck. It sounds like they've tightened up the combat and defenestration mechanics.
Defenestration? If that's a word it's the strangest word I've ever heard.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/defenestrate
That is the single funniest definition in the English language.
If you've seen the E3 trailer for ME2, then you know what I'm talking about.
Yes I do.

I have to give an honorable mention to Mass Effect, mostly because of those damn elevators (plus, I was playing it on a pretty crappy PC.)

But the MOST boring game I've ever played would have to be Kingdom for Keflings. It's a cute little XBLA game which makes decent use of your avatars, but you end up spending most of your time watching your citizens collect lumber.....

.....it's about as fun as staring at a brick wall.....

.....in the middle of nowhere.....

You know someone is going to make a nude patch for that game.

Well, some people think Flight Simulators are boring, but I personally love it, so there must be some sort of market for railroad junkies.

The Metal Gear Series, at least after the original. After that, there was just more and more focus transferred to the unnecessarily convoluted and frankly crap storyline, so much so that they forgot to make the gameplay good and started indulging Kojima's every tiresome whim. As a result, the series just became everything I don't want from a game - bad controls, wearisome design and a total lack of any feeling of involvement. I don't care how complex the story is, that is not necessarily a good one. I want to feel like I'm the one driving the story forward, not just pottering from cutscene to cutscene.

Oh, and bringing people back from the dead all the time and blaming it on a government coverup/SCIENCE!!! isn't good or impactful writing.

Any sports game.
Agreed. Especially soccer. Then there are soccer 'manager' games where you don't actually play soccer but just manage it. I think I would rather play the train sim, given the choice.
