I Installed Fallout: New Vegas after getting it for Christmas this year. Started a new game, and watched the intro video, with Ron Perelman.

Now for the start of the actual game. Character Creation is boring, but fast. I'm feeling worried, as Fallout 3 started out much better. Then I get outside....and I play it for 2 hours, quit out of sheer boredom.

Took me 4 days to go back to it. The game picks up, but i almost stopped playing entirely because it really was that boring.

Also, I was disappointed with the actual city New Vegas. Severely lacking in my opinion, but im only halfway through the game.

So, What do you think has the most boring intro?

Pre-Cataclysm World of Warcraft springs to mind. I got bored after about 30 minutes, went walk-about, and was killed by about a thousand small animals before I gave up for the night. The funny thing is that now I'm totally hooked, with two level 80+ characters.

Pokemon, borderlands, or any that just wont let you skip everything and start.
Borderlands I would agree with. A real lack of interactivity with NPC's, or the sheer lack of NPC's makes for a boring game.

OF course im a level 25, and havent gotten back to the game for a while.

I hate when they give you too many options that you have to fill in, only for you to decide later on that you made a mistake and end up doing it all over again...
I don't see why you can't change character appearance part way through New vegas... you do have a surgically reconstructed face anyways :p

No Mention of KOTOR 2's Peragus? I am disappointed.
This by a mile. Talk about dragging on for far too long. I just about threw a house party when we finally boarded the Ebon Hawk. That intro was almost enough to keep me from playing through it multiple times. Well, that and the ending.

I thought KOTOR 1's was MUCH worse, because Peragus can be cleared quite quickly, especially on second or third run through. whatever that bloody planet in KOTOR 1 was called (can't remember) was just horrendous and interminable.

I seem to recall that in Two Worlds, you create a charier, then you don't even play as them.

Oblivion, I love you, but Patrick Stewart was the only halfway decent thing about that opening. Morrowind had a terrible opening as well. "By the way, we forgot to check what race you are, even though we're staring right at you..."

Farcry 2. It's a good game once it finally gets going, but it takes a long time to do so, and the intro is, well... see for yourself. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/unskippable/723-Far-Cry-2]

Yeah, I'm behind you on this. I love New Vegas, and FO3 but for crying out loud starting the game was tedious at best. I usually figure out the build I want before hand, choose a random character look with my eyes close and counting to 3, then rushing through the set up as fast as possible.

Any game with an unskippable tutorial falls into this category. Honestly, developers? Fuck you for thinking we're too stupid to figure out how to play your game.
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is a glaring example of this. There is no way to skip the scattered tutorials in the first hour of the game. None. Even saying "Yes, I know what I'm doing" causes the game to go "LOL NOPE" and tell you anyways.
Honestly? Fuck that shit.

Fallout 3. The introductory sequence is one reason why I'm only now taking a serious run at that game. Slow, depressing and so linear it might as well be a cut scene - e.g. the bloody birthday party where you MUST talk to everyone before the plot will go on. It's not all bad though. I shot Butch in the back of the head during my escape. Screw Karma, it felt good.
