i saw a post recently about college students unable to foil and it made me think of this. so im curious if you know the answer. in all honesty, even couldn't figure it out at first.

what is the difference between these two lines of letters

AEFHIKLMNTVWXYZ
BCDGJOPQRSU

Ill put the answer up later.
I got nothin'. Perhaps I'm over-thinking this?

Wait.........

Oh you clever bugger
The top ones are composed of straight lines, while the bottom ones have curved ones.

That's not so much a knowledge thing as a perception thing. Most kindergarten kids don't know their letters so they're looking at it more as a picture, not a symbol representing as sound like most adults

Got it, methinks

The letters in the top line are all made from straight lines.
The letters in the bottom line all have curves.

I think the reason kindergarteners can figure that out is because they're focusing on recognizing letters by their shapes, whereas adults are focus more on the potential meaning of the letters.
This.
Its actually the first thing I noticed.
I've the mind of a child! :3

I'm also apparently the only one to notice the conspicuious black widow by the dining hall...
I wonder if I should do something about it.

Now wait, wait, waaait!

I've got it!

Really!

You see, the top letters are made of straight lines, but here's the kicker, the bottom ones are all curved!

I can't believe I'm the first to see this.
Man, you guys are dumb.

'Most college students get this wrong'

No. No, no no. They simply do not provide the one correct answer the questioner prefers from amongst all the possible correct answers.

Because correct answers include that no letter from one line is in the other. The other line is longer. The lower line begins with three consecutive letters from the alphabet, the upper does not. And of course, that one line of letters is made from straight lines only (if one ignores the sharp and right angles). And many more.

The top line is oppressing the bottom line, leading to class differences and an uprising?

The top line is straight letters, the bottom line is curvy letters.

It took me a few minutes, but I figured it out. :)
