<spoiler= DONT CLICK ME UNLESS YOU LIKE TO BE SPOILED> after reading it I just kinda sat there. Thinking to myself "How something like that happen to a girl as lively as her." The way it happened was even worse. Using their escape from the real world, she ultimately escaped it forever. Damn they should never make a movie of this.

No one said "Mortal Engines" yet? I know its a kids series, but its a good and the ending is pretty sad. Also another vote for 1984.

Just finished John Dies at the End Last night. The ending not only depressed me, but seriously freaked me out. Everyone needs to read that book, by the way.

I'm going to say the 1984 is more depressing than Metro 2033, but not by much.

But both totally amazing books. It's also really nice to hear from other people that have read them. Don't usually get to have discussions with people about books which is a shame =/

I want to read Metro 2033 so bad! I can't find it anywhere though T__T

I had to get it online dude, no where nearby stocked it. =D

Is the translation decent? I don't care if it's a little awkward (see: Heart of a Dog and The Master and Margarita as translated by Mirra Ginsburg), but if it's laughable, I'll be the sort who gets distracted XD

Yer the translation good, I think I can only remember 1 or 2 parts where I thought 'Oh that can't be right'. It's annoying cause the second one, (Metro 2034 would you believe) I can't find anywhere =(

Well, if the first one stands on its own, then maybe the second one is superfluous fluff intended to capitalize on the success of the first.

Wasn't Metro 2033 released in English when the game was released. We might have to wait for that to happen again. It would be awesome if Dmitry Glukhovsky translated it himself since he can speak "English, French, German, Hebrew and Spanish as well as his native Russian." Would probably be a better translation since he knows what he wanted to say.

But a book? I'm not able to remember the names but the short story about the two children, and the play house thing. (Can't find it through google, but I shall be searching when I wake up in the morning.)
