Go Forth and Die by Dethklok \m/

Trapped inside a box
Four long years
Hiding from the world
Punished by your peers

Studied teachers words
Earned a piece of paper
No go forth and start

Go forth Be conquered
Go Forth and Die

Now you've graduated
Mind is mutilated
Thrust into the world
Feeling segregated
Move in with your parents
Back into the dark
Landed where you started
Bachelor of Arts

The learning starts now...
Open up your textbooks and turn to the
Chapter concerning your DETH

Night sky
Bleeds red
Black birds
Bring DETH

You'll be eaten by the blackness
Of your rotting mind that's dying
You're consumed with sharpened wings
That penetrate your frightened lying

Go die
Go die
Go die go!

Now you're sad and frightened
Want to go and hide
Maybe get your masters
Eight more years inside
Dream of your own murder
Strangled by the IVY
Drown in student loans
Better off just dying

Go Die
Go Die

You'll be eaten by the blackness
Of your rotting mind that's dying
You're consumed with sharpened wings
That penetrate your frightened lying

Go Forth Be conquered
Go forth and die
Go forth be conquered
Go forth and die
Go forth and die
Go forth and die
Go forth and die
Go forth and die

If the show wasn't so friggin' hilarious, a lot of Dethklok songs would be very depressing, or at the least BRUTALLY METAL :D

EDIT: Oooh, another good one is Birthday Dethday - it pretty much says all your birthday means is you're one year closer to dying :/

What?!? That's one of the most uplifting and happy songs I know! It's not depressing, it's nice!
whoop, your right.i felt it was depressing becuase it talks about how the guy feels like there's nothing he can do to solve his problems.

here's a link to the song if you've never heard it...

this dance is out of rhythm
we trip on excess steps
postponed
at the first showing
you speak in tongues
tremors that warn us of ourselves

"And I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad. The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had." Mad World by Tears for Fears/Gary Jules
Gary Jules should never be credited when quoting lyrics from this song as he had nothing to do with the creation of that song or its lyrics. Tears For Fears wrote those lyrics and were inspired by personal interests emotional distress and loneliness. I'm sorry if this comes off as nit-picky but I am sick and tired of seeing him get credit for this brilliant song because he made a cover of it.

Cannot be sad- it signifies that SCRUBS is about to start

The song 'I will play my game beneath the spin light' by Brand New

"Collect calls to home
to tell them that I realize
that everyone who lives will someday die
and die alone."

Warning: Bridges

In the darkness I unravel
New truths I have suffered
For so long to embrace
They will change me from here on
But I can't share it with anyone
I wish you were here with me tonight

I owe you a pint, Gary Jules needs to be shot in the mouth, the pigfarmer hat wearing bastard who can't fucking sing. Tears For Fears are amazing.
When I am not alone
I sever silent moments
Building bridges with meaningless words
And only feel the distance further
Remember being happy in our silence
I wish that you were with me tonight

I don't need a reason, there's nothing to explain
I can't reproach your leaving to justify my pain
But can I really understand
I wish you were here with me tonight

I read over all you wrote me
The words mean so much more these days
They echo in my soul
They sting me like a burn
Can someone feel too much?
I wish you were here with me tonight

I know Hurt by Nine Inch Nails has already been mention but the line in it that gets me is the chorus

What have I become,
My sweetest friend?
Everyone I know,
Goes away,
In the end...

Also, by Eskimo Joe, London Bombs
I stay up forever,
Try to find an answer
In the sun,
I wait,
for you,
The London Bombs

I reckon there both good cause there just short little snippets that carry an awful lot of emotion.

Ana's Song - Silerchair

Please die Ana
For as long as you're here we're not
You make the sound of laughter
and sharpened nails seem softer

And I need you now somehow
And I need you now somehow

Open fire on the needs designed
On my knees for you
Open fire on my knees desires
What I need from you

Imagine a pageant
In my head the flesh seems thicker
Sandpaper tears corrode the filth

And I need you now somehow
And I need you now somehow

Open fire on the needs designed
On my knees for you
Open fire on my knees desires
What I need from you

And you're my obsession
I love you to the bones
And Ana wrecks your life
Like an Anorexia life

Open fire on the needs designed
On my knees for you
Open fire on my knees desires
What I need from you
Open fire on the needs designed
Open fire on my knees desires
On my knees for you

Remember when Daniel Johns was a credible musician and not a pseudo-experimental pop-rock guy?
This song is about his fight with anorexia.

The dead swans lay in the stagnant pool.
They lay. They rotted. They turned
Around occasionally.
Bits of flesh dropped off them from
Time to time.
And sank into the pool's mire.
They also smelt a great deal.

I hope no one used that one yet ;)

Anybody ever heard of an artist (or at this point a group of artists) called Chocolate Genius? Very interesting stuff. He has one song, called "My Mom", where nearly every line is depressing. Understandable, since it's about the artist coming to terms with his mother's Alzheimer's.

Here, see what I mean:

Chocolate Genius -- My Mom said:
They got five televisions in a house built for three
Look upon that fake fireplace, note the bucktoothed boy's me
See that wood paneled room? That's where I learned to drink
You see that hole in the wall? That was Seagrams I think

That tree was a goal post, that bathroom it was a shroud
That closet it was a phone booth, and that mirror was a crowd
See that guy with the bad knees and his heart on his sleeve?
Watch him slip me ten dollars when it comes time to leave...

It's been five years and some change
and this world is gettin' so strange
but this house smells just the same
And my mom, my sweet mom, she don't remember my name... my mom
she can't remember my name, my mom

I sit on the bed, I kiss her right behind the ear
she calls out for a dog that's been dead for a year
I say ?How is it going?' just like I didn't know
I hold on the both of her hands too afraid to let her go

And five times exactly, no more and no less,
she says ?how you've been eatin', boy?' and I say ?Ok, I guess'
In this room where she made me, each day she grows weak
she flips on the ?Golden Girls' and the first tear hits my cheek

It's been five years and some change
and this world is gettin' so strange
but this old house smells just the same
and my mom, my sweet mom, she don't remember my name
my mom, can't remember my name, she's my mom now,
she can't remember my name... my mom can't remember my name... my mom

Cold Rain
--Crosby, Stills, and Nash

Cold rain down on my face,
buses hurry on,
Work's out,
here comes the race,
People heading home.

Wait a second!
Don't I know you?
Haven't I seen you some place before?
You seem to be like someone I knew.
He lived here,
but he left
When he thought that there was more.

Than cold rain
and nowhere to go.
Many people share
Sad dreams and hopes that are stained
By the sulphur in the air.

Don't I know you?
Haven't I seen you some place before?
You seem to be like someone I knew.
Yes he lived here, but he left
When he thought that there was more.

Than cold rain out on the street,
I am all alone.
With cold rain
down on my face,
I am heading home.

Lover, You Should Have Come Over
--Jeff Buckley

Looking out the door I see the rain
fall upon the funeral mourners
Parading in a wake of sad relations
as their shoes fill up with water
And maybe I'm too young
to keep good love from going wrong
But tonight you're on my mind so
you never know

Broken down and hungry for your love
with no way to feed it
Where are you tonight, child
you know how much I need it
Too young to hold on
and too old to just break free and run

Sometimes a man gets carried away,
when he feels like he should be having his fun
And much too blind to see the damage hes done
Sometimes a man must awake
to find that really, he has no-one

So I'll wait for you... and I'll burn
Will I ever see your sweet return
Oh will I ever learn

Oh lover, you should've come over
cause its not too late

Lonely is the room, the bed is made,
the open window lets the rain in
Burning in the corner is the only one
who dreams he had you with him
My body turns and yearns for a
sleep that will never come

Its never over,
my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
Its never over,
all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her
Its never over,
all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
Its never over,
she's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever

Well maybe Im just too young
To keep good love from going wrong

Oh... lover, you should've come over
cause it's not too late

Well I feel too young to hold on
And I'm much too old to break free and run
Too deaf, dumb, and blind to see the damage I've done
Sweet lover, you should've come over
Oh, love, well I'm waiting for you

Lover, you should've come over
cause it's not too late

I got a few quite deppresive songs for you:

Metallica's "Fade To Black" (I have lost the will to live. Simply nothing more to give)

Johnny Cash's "House Of The Blues" (Just around the corner's there's heart ache..)

Michael Jackson's "She's Out Of My Life" (I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I don't know whether to live or die. And it cuts like a knife. She's out of my life.)

But the most depressing song I've ever listened to is Rammstein's Ohne Dich:

(Ohne dich kann ich nicht sein
Ohne dich
Mit dir bin ich auch allein
Ohne dich
Ohne dich zähl ich die Stunden ohne dich
Mit dir stehen die Sekunden
Lohnen nicht

Auf den Ästen in den Gräben
ist es nun still und ohne Leben
Und das Atmen fällt mir ach so schwer
Weh mir, oh weh
Und die Vögel singen nicht mehr

English translation:

Without you I cannot be
Without you
With you I am alone too
Without you
Without you I count the hours without you
With you the seconds stand still
They aren't worth it

On the branches in the ditches
it's now silent and without life
And breathing becomes oh so hard for me
Woe is me, oh woe
And the birds sing no more

*sob, sob*

H.I.M- Join me in death

"we are so young our lives have just begun, but already we are considering, escape from, this world..." "will you die tonight for love?(backing: baby join me in death) would you die?"
