I just want to know this: what do you think is the most depressing song in the world?

It doesn't even have to be a technically "sad song," the only qualification for entry is that hearing it makes you want to dorwn orphan puppies......

[small]....................................how sad....................................[/small]

Here are some of my picks:

[small]WARNING: the lyrics in this next song are so sad, they've been known to trigger suicide...in PUPPIES...[/small]

Hallelujah is a beautiful song, but it isn't depressing for me.

For reference, seek out 'I Hate Myself and Want to Die.' It's a fantastic book listing the 52 most depressing songs ever. Well worth a read. The number one song according to this book is

The Christmas Shoes.

Seriously, it's depressing in the way that makes people genuinely commit suicide.

Strange. You usually advocate using the search bar...

Anywho

Those songs aren't really depressing.... I'm a huge talent fan and only a few of their songs seem sad to me... It's not that the lyrics to basically all of their songs aren't depressing and dark, its that Ian's guitar and the band's music as a whole has to collaborate in just the right way that it ends up sounding depressing, which to me only works in a few songs. Also, Hallelujah is a morose masterpiece of a song, but...eh... I've heard of a song called "gloomy sunday" that actually caused several suicides, apparently.

When you take the time to actually listen to the lyrics...it really tugs on certain hearstrings. Thankfully this isn't true in my life.

Personally, Evanesance's Bring me to Life makes me cry and want to kill the nearest bastard around me before killing myself... strange that I always seem to hear it while commanding a couple of tons of steel flying at 60 miles an hour in public areas...

the entire album American Lesion by Greg Graffin. my personal situation has a lot to do with why i find it so depressing and hopeful at the same time.

When one is already depressed, why not add appropriate background music? I don't do things by half, you know.

Dude that song IS goddamn depressing, but I've never wanted to hurt myself over it....it's a song...

Anyways, heres a few of my fav songs to play when I get a small bout of self pity or just feel like letting things get to me, and being a bit sad for a bit, it's healthy I think...

No Idea what this video is about, I'm just talking about the song lol this isn't the real video (obviously)

(not the real video, the officail video leaves a line or 2 out idk why, so I put this one up instead)

(HEY! this is the real video for once...)

That's why they/we like them, sometimes you just need to feel depressed/sad and have a good cry.
Well, you all sound crazy to me, but I'd hate to spoile your fun sadness.

I don't typically listen to country, but I like both of these songs.
