last time i saw a thread about this topic there were several examples of 1 hit kills that bosses used, just don't remember which games.

It would have to be Sephiroth, when he fights you in Kingdom Hearts II.

He does this random thing where the screen lights up or goes black (I forget which one) and then he automatically hits you for, like... A billion damage. So it's essentially a one hit kill. I was the highest level possible and I tried several times before I beat him. I have no idea if there's some strategy or any way to counter it, but in the end, it only takes about 50 potions and 20 hours of preparation for you to win.

I think it's either called Meteor or Super Nova by One Winged Angel in FFVII.

Yeah those Kingdom Heart sephiroth battles were always extremely difficult. I hated that move you were talking about. The screen goes all black then he throughs this mass of pure ridiculousness at you. It was still fun though.

Not really a boss, but crocodiles in MGS3. So I'm swimming along, and suddenly there's a thrashing sound and lots of splashing and I die.

Oh man was it. I was waiting for someone to say that move. But in my opinion I have to go old school and say bald bull's bull charge in punch out! after you knocked him down twice. two hops and you're done and when you get up from it there is again!! Very fustrating if you dont know the way to stop it.

Abyssion's Meteor Swarm attack in Tales of Symphonia. Or anything of his, really. He's tougher than the final friggin' boss and has just about every massive spell in the game (including a ton of the Hi-ougis, for those poor fools fighting him on the PS2 version).
