The Village. The trailer made it out to be an exciting and scary survival-horror film, but in actual facts was about a bunch of people in a nature reserve running away from retards in costumes. Massive spoiler alert, btw.

Clash of the fucking Titans.

Not only do they completely fuck up contemporary Greek mythology involving the Titans and the future Olympians civil war, but the entire thing is done in less than an hour and a half. And the most impressive creature in the movie, the Kraken, get's roughly 5 fucking minutes on screen before getting turned to stone.

..And then there is the very awkward "romance" between Perseus and Io, no less.

*Sigh*

Ah good ol Lord of War. I loved it.
Mine would be Garden State.

Not saying it was bad. But everyone said it was funny as hell.
It was moving, maybe, but it sure as hell didn't make me shit myself.

Inception, "yeah it's really good but is a total mindfuck"
Seemed pretty boring and straightforward to me really
Was just an OK movie that might surprise you with its ideas, but a mindfuck it is not.
Now Audition, that's a mindfuck *shiver*
Kirikirikiri :) Put me off wanting a Japanese girlfriend. For about three minutes.

OT, "Avatar" is the obvious one. A mate of mine's seen it five times and thinks it's amazing. Sorry, walking around touching plants and watching them light up isn't a glimpse of paradise -it's an IKEA advert.

Inception.

If people parade around shouting praises for a movie from the rooftops, I expect it to at least be interesting enough to make me not hate it even more for people making me watch it a second time so I "understood" it.

I understood it the first time thanks, it's just the epitome of ridiculousness.

Saw Avatar with a date. My ass fell asleep, and by the time the movie was nearing the end, I was happy to see so much of the supporting cast get shot and die.

EDIT: It was the only movie I've seen that sapped so much energy out of me that I didn't want to make a move afterward. I watched Schindler's List not too long ago with my ex and when it was over, we went outside for a ten minute cigarette break, then went back inside and got busy (normally this would take place in the shower because of limited privacy, but we decided to risk having someone walk in because... well, guess).

The Clash Of The Titans remake. It was rushed and the characters were horribly shallow, I just didn't care for any of them. Not to mention the horrible 3D.

Full Metal Jacket. First half was really good. Second half was way under par, IMO.

Agreed, overall a good movie not really anything I can complain about, but given the amount of money and buzz Inception pulled in it wasn't a surprise when they set it up for a second one.

OT: Repo Men, if you've seen it, you know what I mean.

I loved Lord of War because it was a political drama...

OT: Oceans 12...
I enjoyed the movie, but they did really play it up as something it wasn't in the ads.

They probably saw The Matrix: Reloaded and Revolutions or whatever those shite sequels were.

Original Matrix was FTW

edit: made a mistake in first post.

Burn After Reading.

The box for the DVD was heaped with praise, five stars from a hell of a lot of people. Not only that, but I have loved every single Cohen Brothers film I have seen.

So, when it turned out to be so boring it made me feel like I'd rather be asleep, I felt somewhat disappointed and deceived.

This will be about the fifth time I make a post about this movie, but...

The American

Watch this trailer:

Looks pretty cool, right? It got great reviews from critics. They said it's smart, cool, and intelligent. It definitely looks like a film about a suave, cool assassin.

It's not.

The movie is about George Clooney going to a village, then building a gun. That's it. Oh, he takes it apart and rebuilds it a bit. And sometimes he has lunch with a priest, while other times he eats food and watches a Sergio Leone film. At night, he sometimes has sex with a prostitute. Then he goes back to his apartment and builds his gun again, sometimes going to the river to take pictures of butterflies.

Repeat this for an hour and a half. I'm guessing the director realized how awful it was before he released the finished project, and quickly added in a couple of shots of George Clooney walking down alleys and shooting quick glances over his shoulders. The suspense! Especially when nothing happens.

I have never watched a movie I hated more than this. It is the perfect example of a movie that thinks it is more artistic than it really is. It takes itself too seriously. Every single thing that could be a symbol of something is thrown in your face. I wouldn't have been surprised if George Clooney had a tattoo of the word "Symbol" under the butterfly tattoo on his ass.

I really wanted to walk out on this, but my friends wanted to stay. Or maybe they were just asleep.

I give this movie a 1/10. It's the only movie I have given that score to[footnote]Ok, ok. Maybe not the only one. If you want to see another revolting film, check out indie movie "Tarnation".[/footnote]. Usually a bad movie at least has a decent plot, or some action, or it's so bad it's funny. This one isn't. It's just terrible in every single way. There are no redeemable qualities.

I'd have to say the recent Clash of The Titans remake. I didn't think it was even worth seeing in regular 2D.
