Oh, I got an answer for this one. I like the MGS series. I also like seeing myself get high grades like S, A. Both gaming and in school. Naturally, to have such a high grade in a MGS game, you must have no alert and no kills. Use only the good ol' MK.22 or the chokehold. So one day I was playing Peace Walker.

At the least area, making my way through the ruins, I crouch behind a brick wall. I take out my binoculars and scans the area. I see a camouflaged sniper. I use my Mosin Nagant to take him out.

I walk slowly to my left and make my wear to the next brick wall. I scan the area again. I see an enemy crouched, attentively looking for any intruders. I take him out. Bad mistake, there was another soldier right beside him, hidden behind a pile of debris, the reason I didn't see him.

Someone's firing at us!

I try to make my way around so I can get a clear shot, too late.

Going to alert status!

I see him, realizes that I'm out of ammo, changes to stun rod and charges to him. I stun him from behind. He loses consciousness. However, all this happened after the dreaded sentence.

Understood, sending reinforcements! Eliminate all intruders!

I dash to the next area as soon as possible, as I had no wish to tangle with the backup team. Only two steps away, when I hear it.. The sound every MGS fan resents.

Oh, and, this.

It messes with my head..

This.
Followed shortly by this.
That signifies that a lot of work just went down the drain... and yet I come back for more.

Or in terms of annoyance, the Zelda Beep Beep! Beep Beep! Beep Beep! sound when you're low on life. Drives. Me. Insane.

Sound of any Special Infected from Left 4 Dead.

"ARUAUAAAAA UHUH", or the sound of a fast zombie from Half-Life 2.

I agree with the MGS !. But no one who has played Silent Hill 2 could forget the radio. The static was a sign that shit was coming your way.

Player X [Claymore] Kajt

That happens in countless games, but I was mainly referring to Battlefield 2 and Call of Duty 4. Good, fun games but those claymores can be very annoying sometimes. Good thing that Call of Duty 4 had the Bomb Squad perk for those days when you're just not in the mood to have you killstreak ended prematurely.

I hate it when the zombies in HL2 beg for your help. Same as the ones in System Shock 2. It disturbs the fuck out of me.

The scream sound effect uttered by those annoying Redeads from LoZ: The Wind waker! They sound like high pitched elephants, sure, but when I first got the game and I saw the Redead's new design, it actually made me cringe a bit, I was still a kid too back then, now I bomb the fuck out of them and laugh! I tried walking past them at a safe distance, but it still saw me and uttered that hideous sound! I see Link stop in his tracks and shake with fear with a "pissed your pants" expression to match, I actually jumped and panicked as the dead bastard hopped on my back and started to kill me!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hc-FM4hYyzs This was almost like my reaction.

I wholeheartedly agree. Same with SH3. Urgh....

Resident Evil had a fair few. Chiefly being shattering glass, a thud or two and then "Starsssss......" Shit my pants every damn time.

There's still the one's of more recent MGS of "Huh? What was that just now" and then yourself going "NO! IT'S NOBODY! DON'T COME OVER HERE!"

I like to do this to my friends while they sleep. It's... delightfully entertaining.

Pretty much everything about Bioshock, the talking of the splicers, them messing around with something or fight eachother or fighting inanimate objects, the footsteps, god the footsteps...

In fact I'm tempted to just say any footsteps that I can't see or determine the source for. If I know they're coming and I'm hiding around a corner and using their footsteps to judge when they're coming, that okay, but when I hear something approaching me slowly and I can't for the life of me see it, I start to panic (in a good way). :D

That *click click* of my favorite weapon running out of ammo. Followed by my frantic attempt to find another suitable (if inferior) weapon, not getting the hang of the aimming on the new one right away and then the death sound (whatever it is).

That doesn't happen often, but when it does I get pissed.

When the damn computer in Red Alert says "Silos Needed". Not really dreaded because you fear it, but dreaded because you know if you didn't build more of the damn things the computer was never going to shut up about them.
