Ironically, this led to me being lol'd at.
I did exactly the same thing, except I was fourteen, so it was a bit more embarrasing. The worst part was that the people who were doing the laughing all knew me in real life. Much pointing and laughing continued on the next day at school.
And thus began my hatred of internet acronyms.

BF2142 - Being very tired, and unfortunately, left to gun in a gunship, I TV missiled the hell out of about 10 people on my own team. In fairness, it was back in the days when my rig resembled a plank of wood with PCI cards roughly jammed into it. The player names took a while to come up.

Oblivion - Got killed by a mudcrab as I fled from a bunch of daedra.

Any game with grenades - hit a wall, bounced back, killed me and/or the majority of my team..

I'm sure there's been numerous points in numerous games where I was frustrated to the point of tears after running around a level for hours looking for somewhere new to go before noticing a door, or.. a stick, or, something which led to the next area, but none spring to mind.

The mudcrab sucked though.

I've seen someone ask "What the fuck does WTF stand for?".

Friendly warm up game prior to a css match with my mid ed team at the time. Our Clan Leader's sister's just got css.. i'd been playing cs since 1.6, her first kill was a knifing of me at ct spawn on de_dust2. Oh how i was reminded of that for months and months.

I was playing halo 3 matchmaking on guardian, and I was running on the bottom catwalk from the green hallway to the room with the orange grav-lift, a guy came down on the other catwalk in between the grav-lift room and the gravity hammer spawn and killed my splitscreen partner, then threw a sticky that I saw coming and STILL walked into. I left the game early to avoid the "N00B!" shouts at the end of the match...

in Cod4,the first time a teammate killed me because I picked up his grenade, and all the times I held it too long and it exploded just inches shy of sparing me, and all the times I jumped off stuff and died.

I was over at a friends house playing GoW on insane, we did the diverging paths during the cavern levels just before the corpser fight and no matter which side I picked I kept dying and at one point got stuck. A wretch snuck up on my stuck guy but didnt attack me, so the second time a wretch came to me I ignored it and it killed me. I am awesome at that game and have beat the hell out of my friend multiple times in any game I care to name, but I still recieved crap about that for a week...

He heard me, raped my face, and my entire team bitched at me for not unloading my entirely full and entirely operational M4 Clip into his face.
Me : ...sadface
He was pretty far away too, but he shot me through the wall =/

My most embarrassing moment was the first time I played as a medic in Team Fortress 2. I instinctivly ran at the enemy base firing my syringe gun and died. :(

Well, lets get embarrassing I suppose.

I was about 19(yes I was drinking before I was 21, which was not uncommon where I grew up). My friends and I were playing Mario Kart on the N64 and were pretty wasted on cheap 40's. I was winning the race when my buddy Dave passed me. I had got a Koopa shell and slammed it into him. He lost it and I won the race. I started laughing so hard I puked all over the TV and the N64. Major party foul.

Playing Kingdom Hearts with the controller upside-down.

I seriously didn't realise that until' I had died twice.
Of course, I was pretty feverish at that point in time.

I was playing system link multiplayer GoW. The match was 2v2. This was my first time playing the multiplayer aspect of the game. The designers cleverly decided to implement smoke grenades that looked just like real grenades. I had used a few of them and decided that the real grenades didn't exist anymore. I figured the designers wanted the multiplayer to have a bit more of a tactical approach to it.

So my buddy and I are hiding behind cover when the enemy lobs a grenade next to my foot.
I calmly tell my partner, "Don't worry. It's just a smoke gren-" BOOOOOM!!

We lost that match.

My worst gaming moment would be one time while I was playing a CSS zombie match. I fell off a ledge that me and a friend were standing on. I ran in circles stabbing zombies while failing to jump up to the ledge.

Either that or shooting the Fatman in Fallout 3 at the ground in front of the Behemoth.

Playing Call of Duty 4 once on search and destroy i was the last man standing and about to defuse the bomb. To piss the other team off a bit i decided to wait till the last seconds to diffuse it just in time as i was diffusing it I accidentally stopped diffusing the bomb with one second left on the clock...... Needless to say we didnt win. The bomb went kaboom and i heard the worst nerd rage from my teamates ive ever heard anywhere. I felt so stupid lol =D

Sometime in the early '90s, Some friends and I were taking turns playing Super Conflict on the SNES. I had just sunk my buddy's only aircraft carrier, and was laying attacks in on his main base/capital, and he ripped off a big raunchy fart.Im talking roguish, scary.

Within 2 or 3 seconds the game SHUT ITSELF OFF and we cleared out...Mf'er just sat there laughing, alternately claiming victory by use of poison gas and/or doomsdsay device.

Not exactly funny unless you really know the game, or are good at visualizing these things:

In Battlezone 2, ISDF vs ISDF (humans vs AI humans), and we were staging outside of the enemy base waiting for our "Attila" walkers to catch up to the quicker "Sabre" hovertanks. Now, before I go on, I will say that the map we were playing on (MPI: Chill for those in-the-know) has 2 terrain ramps up to each base area, the rest being a giant cliff straight down to the pathway below. So, suddenly, a pair of "Bulldog" assault tanks start hammering our Sabres, killing a few, and I decided that, since one was riiight next to the cliff, I could get rid of a threat easily and quickly. I rush in, the rest of my team dodging plasma shots and staring, and RAM the treaded assault tank with my light hovertank, blasting my main cannon at it, and we BOTH go teetering over the edge, the assault tank flipping and me hammering it on the way down. Unfortunately, I didnt check my radar before going over the edge, so, even though I had blown up an enemy assault tank in mid-air, I got blown up by an enemy sabre lying below. A stream of "Lol"'s and "Haha! Nice!"'s followed as I floated back to base after having to eject.

One more in the same game, 1vs1, me as ISDF and my friend as Scions (aliens). I didnt build fast enough, so my friend got a stream of Maulers (quick, nasty alien walkers that can rip a base to shreds), and sent them at my forward defenses. I knew I was doomed, so, in a last ditch attempt, I sent my bomber out at the group, my friend saw it take off (musta been spying on my base), and had the group move on as my bomber utterly devastated my front lines, with no enemy casualties. I didnt live that down for a bit.

I had an incredible bonehead moment when a friend of mine was playing Diablo II and found a set-piece helm. For some obscure reason I decided to come over all knowledgeable and declared "That's Tankred's Battlehelm (I think). That has to be Tankred's battlehelm. I'll bet you $10 that's Tankred's Battlehelm . . ."

The intelligent have already figured out the punchline. I am SUCH a dork.
