That part in a biker mice form Mars episode where they're back on Mars and a woman shows one of them (I forgot who) the last remaining forest on Mars. I loved it when cartoons turned serious like that. I still do.

The Leviathan from Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
Looking back on it, there still isn't a single second that it's on screen that isn't awesome.
However, nowadays I think it's also pretty cool how much Packard doesn't give a f**k.

The water tower scene from 100 Rifles where Raquel Welch um, under the.. If I'd had the ability to rewind something way back then I would probably still be watching that scene.

That movie is insane, I remember going to see it at the movie theater when it first came out. The giants scared the crap out of me.

I was always afraid of dogs, so having a bunch of dogs, which are already freaking scary, turn into a bloody flower-faced monstrosity really burned into my mind.

The movie is awesome though, best (my favorite) horror movie i've ever seen

If you mean from when I was a little kid, this was one of the first movies I got to see.

Terminator 2 oh my god how I loved and still love that film. Easily the best action film of my childhood and probably still one of my favourites to this day. THAT'S A DAMN MINIGUN!
I had to beg my parents to let me see this when I was 11.
With Aliens I'd like to say the whole movie,
At least these are films from when I was pretty young. Plenty of more epic scenes, but then I was a bit older.

I was about 4-5 years old when I saw this. I didn't have a full grasp on reality by that point so when the dog's head split open, I was like:
"Wait, something is wrong. Can dogs do that? My dog doesn't do that."

My whole experience of the Matrix was just 90 minutes of my jaw dropping continuously when I saw it when I was 4 years old (yes, I know was too young). Noteworthy scenes that could be classified as "epic" are when Neo wakes up from the Matrix. The whole experience, from him being absorbed by the mirror, to waking up and discovering he is a battery, is unbelievably visceral and thrilling. Other amazing scenes include him dodging bullets and just the entire shoot out in the lobby.

The Balrog scene from Fellowship of the Ring was a huge moment for me as well. It's an obvious choice, but that's just a testament to the sheer scope and wow-factor it had.

The Pirate Ship reveal from Goonies, because the set-up was awesome, the music perfect and made me feel like I was really there discovering an old hidden treasure of a pirate ship... I love that movie.

Hoo, boy. There's a LOT of classic film scenes I could pick from, given my childhood involved the 80s and 90s.

However, I'm gonna throw my hat into the ring for this scene from Jurassic Park -

The film was filled with amazing, "epic" scenes. However, this one is one of the few that can still give me chills. So not only does it fill the criteria for the thread, but I still say it stands as one of the best special effects scenes in movie history.

It has to be the guitar battle between Bod and Megabite from Reboot.
While not from a movie, I'd still back this choice.

Every fight scene in Kung Fu Hustle. That movie was the greatest blend of Chinese martial arts and comedy I've ever watched in my life; almost like a Tarantino movie crossed with Looney Tunes.

The same guy who directed it, Stephen Chow, also made a film about people using kung fu to play soccer. It's as ridiculously awesome as it sounds.

This one only gets more magnificent every time I see it:

The Ring makes one last attempt to kill Frodo and fails. The music in the scene is incredible. I had never seen anything like these films before and doubt that even The Hobbit can top that sense of wonderment.
