xenogears.
oh wait that was just one game.
unless you count the bland xenosaga series, but then because god hates me they weren't allowed to make it a direct prequel because of legal issues.
...This discussion is depressing.

Imo, the Fire Emblem series. The GC and Wii ones were kinda hit and miss but the first 2 American handheld games are among my favorite games ever.

Dude you do realise that Code:Veronica is part of the main series right? The T-Veronica virus is actually mentioned quite a bit in RE 5

I'm a little surprised that only one person mentioned the Legacy of Kain series and that was the OP. The Soul Reaver and Blood Omen games were some of the best ever for telling a story, then again this is all just opinion and whatnot

People that say Halo make me sigh a little inside.

For me, either God of War, Metal Gear, or Fallout

I love The Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver series too. But come on already, where's the sequel to Defiance already people? There's only so many times I can *****-slap the Elder God and there was still some questions that were unresolved.

Other favourite series include the Baldur's Gate series and the entirety of Neverwinter Nights One and it's expansions.

The "Gothic" series. But only I and II and the add-on. 3 + add-on were a pile of poo and 4 will be a even greater pile as the old developers were sued by the publisher and lost their game.
Haven't you heard of Risen? It's Piranha Bytes' newest game, and is very Gothic-like. There's a demo, and if someone is going to buy it, buy the PC version. I've heard that the Xbox version is pure shait.
I know dude, but my pc is so old it runs on steampower xD. If I would try to start Risen on my PC my graphics card would melt and my processor would explode.

The only series where I've played every game is Splinter Cell.

Splinter Cell: Great
Pandora Tomorrow: Good
Chaos Theory: Fantastic
Double Agent: Good (but great for mixing things up a bit)
Conviction: Looking A-f*cking-Star . Can't wait!

That's a shame, it's a really good game. draws you into the world and before you know it, you've spent 15 hours playing it over one weekend - with the end still nowhere in sight

Probably Time Splitters or GTA.
I too would say GTA but I'm worried that they peaked with San Andreas. GTA4 is such a letdown; even with dlc.
I just hope their next console game can be as much fun as Chinatown Wars.
