Also from DA:I: the despair demons. The teleport around the place which is annoying to start with. What's worse is they have a very long range attack and will move so far away from the rift that if you chase them it can reset the bloody thing and you have to kill everything again. They also end up sitting in spots that require awkward jumping to melee them.
I'll see your despair demons and raise you arcane horrors. They take a lot of hits before they go down, and they seem to have a knack for teleporting away just as you use an ability on them, or they teleport to the other side of the room, wait for you to run over and start hitting them, and then teleport away again. And as for the ones in the Exalted Plains who are accompanied by seemingly endless respawning corpses (and poison arrow-equipped corpse archers), they can feck right off.

The ghosts in Metroid Prime should've been a one or two time deal and that's it. It becomes really tedious after a couple of times when you can only use the most basic blaster on these fast teleporting pricks who can pop up behind you, like breathing on your neck close, just stun you, and piss off again. They make the room really dark every time you encounter them so it's difficult to just leave if they haven't trapped you in, there is always 3 of them, they take more shots than they should, and some of the rooms they keep spawning in are not best designed to move around well. I hate them so, it really makes it difficult to return to MP when I remember these mobs.
Argh, going into a room and hearing that music start up, you know you're going to be in for a frustrating time. The worst thing is when you're charging up, ready to fire at one of them, and another one jumps through you. In fact, all of my least favourite enemies in Metroid Prime were the ones who could stun you, making you lose whatever you were charging. That, and the enemies from Prime 3 that you had to kill by yanking bits of them with the grapple. An interesting idea, but not always practical when you're fighting a whole crowd of them.

The tesla beetle monster things in Diablo 2 that fire off a four way electric blast when each one dies is especially annoying. Doesn't help that there is an underground section in the game you need to go through to finish a main quest that is really narrow so only one thing can fit through, and it's littered with these damn beetles the whole way! It's a pissy way for the game to tell you to get lightning resistance. Fuck!
Oh god I'd forgotten about those, Jesus Christ I hated those things. God help you if you went as an Assassin, Barb or some other build that relies on rapid-fire attacks, they basically become a Bullet Hell boss at that point.

Secret of Mana had some balance issues no question, but that was mostly to do with magic stunning the enemy for a long time and making you invincible while casting. Then there's these jerks who multiply whenever there's fewer than the enemy limit of 3 on the screen. You get no XP or gold when that happens, and the two new ones get full HP meaning you wasted all your time damaging them before (they have strong defence against both magic and physical).

It's against my nature to run from enemies in a game with RPG elements, but your one advantage here is that they move slower than you can run. However, the blue and red ones can freeze (can't move or act) and engulf (can't move or act plus you take gradual damage) you, forcing you to stop and fight while the afflicted party member can't move. Lastly, the gray ones don't do that- instead they simply multiply in a way that one of the copies transforms into an enemy from two whole dungeons ahead of where you are now... a dungeon that itself is considered a massive difficulty spike in the game.

Killing one of these things is always more effort than it's worth, and a waste of precious magic.

More recently I got Devil Survivor: Overclocked for Christmas and while I'm sure there's worse things waiting for me ahead in the final day, Decarabias need to stop appearing before I break something or someone. The flying starfish have resistances to everything except Lightning, cast a strong all-party barrier spell that blocks everything, even Almighty attacks, and guarantees that you have to give your enemy extra turns by attacking them and being blocked, and they're always the leader of their teams meaning killing them first denies you XP and Macca in a game where Macca is extremely important and you need all you can get.

They will never kill you (well they do use Agidyne but no biggie), but their buddies will since you can't freaking damage them through all the barriers and they also cast an all-party Mute spell whenever they're not using their barrier, meaning you can't use Lightning. Worse, if one of your demons does die, the Decarabia heals the entire enemy team back to full, both HP and MP, again undoing all your hard work. A party of three Decarabias won't kill you- they'll just make the battle last about ten rounds longer than it needs to.

Oh, and they show up in a mission with a time limit of six rounds to kill everything.

What the hell is wrong with your avatar? I mean...

Yeah, fuckin' ghosts! You are right about the charging. The game teaches you it's always better to charge, but with the ghosts it's a bit of a risk. I remember seeing one of the fastest speed runs of Metroid Prime, and even those mutants can't finish them off quickly enough to stop it feeling like a chore.

The main flaw in Metroid Prime is that you just don't get enough movement upgrades like in Super Metroid, so when your looking out for 3 jerks all popping in and out whenever, your vision and movement are not built around this type of challenge well.

The walking Turrets in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, those assholes just love to surround you and push you into a corner without raising their heads to fire once, knowing there's jack shit you can do to stop them.
I shall raise you by...those bloody masks with the hearts, Ive had so many runs where I was doing 'ok' and thought to myself that I could 'easily' make a few trades/get the boss rush room to spawn etc etc...only to shortly thereafter wind up in that one 'long' room where the hearts are on pedestals in the middle and those masks just swarm you. At this point accepting my fate knowing Im screwed..and promising myself not to rage, I quickly dart to the mid to try anyways. Nevertheless...they are merciless and dont care.

Ninja Gaiden 2's Incendiary Shuriken Ninja.

Holy balls, these turds are so bad, you have to spam moves that give you invincibility frames to avoid being plastered with explosive shurikens that can stun lock you almost every time they explode AND do some serious damage.

Also in Diablo 2, the mages in the chaos sanctuary who have all the best curses. It was terrible trying to get through there with any melee character, especially a zealidin because you couldn't stop attacking once you started, and if you were hit with iron maiden, then you are dead. They eventually patched iron maiden out, after a long time.

Also in Diablo 2, the bone fetishes who explode when they die dealing a crap ton of damage. Still there.

Also in Diablo 2, when fire enchanted monsters used to explode for ridiculous damage. Patched out.

Also in Diablo 2, the poison vipers who due to a bug, their poison spear attack did a stupid amount of damage. I believe if you moved through the attack it would constantly proc the damage, so you basically just died if you moved into it. Wasn't patched.

Also in Diablo 2, Duriel in act 2 normal SP, like the hardest boss ever. Attack, run out of potions (or die). Make sure you constantly keep TPs up so you can get your corpse or more potions!

Still love the game though :D

Ugh I hate those things...

a few more:

Assassins from Spartan Total Warrior - These damn guys just jump all over the place, block or dodge all your attacks and get cheap shots in all the time... awful!

Bees from Don't Starge - Survive 47 days, have an awesome shelter built, explored most of the world.... killed by bee

Cursed Skulls from Terraria - Wall hackers that just won't stop coming!

Geth Hoppers from Mass Effect - Just stand still dammit!

Magic Dumbbells from Dragon Quest - 50% of the time they just summon another of themselves, and if you get 8 of them they do a massive attack that insta-kills everyone in the party unless they resist the spell.

Fleeches from Oddworld Abe's Exoddus - Slurp, Slurp, SLURP, SLURPSLURPSLURP, Consumed whole.... dammit

This is going to be an odd one but Bronze Dragons in Runescape. Or any of the higher level dragons.
Impossible to pray flick on (For me) because of their odd attack timing and they hit through an anti dragon shield with fire. On top of that they just don't die and take about 15 minutes to prepare for and get too plus they cost money and I always forget my axe for the roots in the way.
I hate dragons and I hate whoever gives me them as a slayer task.

Veteran Brotherhood members in The Darkness II. They never stand still so I can't shoot them, they deal a shit ton of damage with their auto shotguns and they can teleport through walls. They're supposed to be using a weaker variant of Jackie's power and yet they can phase through everything while I can't? Get your shit together Jackie, these guys are badass compared to you!

Honorable mention goes to the Mace-wielding Drakekeepers in Dark Souls II. There is literally no window of opportunity to hit them, they never get staggered, and their attacks can easily kill you in 1 or 2 hits. You're basically forced to use a ranged weapon, magic, or poison throwing knives. But what fun is that? The Dragon Aerie had such a beautiful design, it's a shame that the enemies have to be so bullshit.
Ah yes. Those guys were a real pain for my melee fighter the first time I went there.
While we're on Dark Souls 2, I've got some others, particularly from the DLC levels.

In Sunken Crown, there's the poison turtles. I was playing a hex mage while fighting them and the only way I could manage to hit them was with my bow, which did about 10 damage due to my crap strength and stamina and inability to wield anything better than a short bow.

Then, there's the evil priests who can chuck lighting at me and prevent me from casting spells. I tried to melee them, but they'd just use the lightning version of immolation to punish me for it. I hated those guys.

Novistadors (the bugs) in Resident Evil 4.

The very first time you encounter them in the sewers is actually really good, and that's because they don't fly. In every encouter that follows... they do.

The problem is that Novistadors are already "bruisers", meaning enemy types that can inflict a shitload of damage on you. But once they start flying they also become "annoyance enemies", meaning hard to target and distracting. And that combination... it's not swell.
Yeah...

Especially on Professional, when their stupid grab acid attack is basically a one shot. Hate the dogs for the same reason.
On the other hand, shooting them while they're flying seems to instantly kill them. Just go mad with the TMP if you have it.

It's well known by now but the eagles in Farcry 4 are definitely annoying. You don't see them coming and after they attacked they become a flying moving speck that is almost impossibe to shoot down. If you follow its path and shoot it right before it descends to attack again they become a bit less annoying but still. Not really an option when you're in a firefight(which happens every 3 seconds in FC4).

In general I'd say both dogs and anything that flies in third-person shooters are almost always a pain. Also dogs in Dark Souls.

Fully upgraded shotgun also kills them in 1 or 2 blasts. Always have one at the ready. :p I found the Verdugos more annoying. Espescially in that maze where the one chasing you is essentially unkillable and a complete ammo waster.

Any enemy that is small, fast and flies. Made even more annoying if they're the kind that use hit & run tactics.

The insulated androids in Alien: Isolation. Seriously, the normal androids are already annoying. They are fire resistant, takes a good amount of bullets to take them down and, unless they are stunned, melee attacks are totally ineffective. But the insulated ones seem to be more resistant, and they are immune to the stunning baton and EMP mines (in other words: they can't be stunned).

Oh god, those things. They always loved to show up when you were running back on low hp too. I remember getting nailed by a fairy on my first hard-mode shot too though but those Cursed Skulls, buh.

Those Yellow Turtles from Wonderful 101 caused me all sorts of shit. They piss me off just thinking about them.

Drones ? Halo series: Seriously fuck these things all the way to and through the ears or who ever programmed them and came up with them! Sooooo fucking annoying. Every segment that involves them! These guys are like Cortana times a thousand

Handymen ? Bioshock Infinite: You?re gunning your way through assholes maybe implementing that sky line and feeling like a bad ass pulling off some awesome fire and machine gun combos and then you hear it ?You?re making so much noise!!!? FFFfffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuu!!!! Kiss all your money goodbye because you are about to die a lot.

Rats-Loaded: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCK!!! ...that?s all I got to say about any level including this annoying as fuck enemy in this top down shooter. They are relentless and come at you in packs. And you?re thinking oh yeah no problem I?ll just turn you into a red smear like I do with everything that tries to hurt me in this game and be on my way. But they fucking respawn!! and 50% of the time you will miss them and they are so fast and get so close and will circle you if you try to turn to shoot them and like do 40% damage per hit omg!!!.
Take a look. Know my pain
They don't look so bad there. But play these levels as anyone else who isn't packing heat in both hands and ooooohohooo! You will be thankful this game was made back in the days where there were such things as level skip codes!

Kano ? Mortal Kombat: I was going to say MK2011 Kano but you know what. Name any game and facing the AI Kano is a fucking pain in the ass.

And now we get real serious.
Mass Effect 2:

Husks ? One minute you're king shit the next you are surrounded by these dopes and and no time are beaten to death. by slack jawed glowing neon blow zombies! >.< grrrrrr!!

Scions ? on their own they?re not that bad. However they are never on their own and with the help of their little lackies these assholes are soooo annoying with that biotic move. God am I ever thankful for the role move in Mass Effect 3.

And last and Fuck you! ? Harbinger ?yeah yeah that?s fair keeping poping me out of cover asshole! Oh I?m dying now and hey you?re going to hit me again before I can get back into cover aren?t you? Yep you did and now I am burning...asshole.

Infamous: Second Son has one of the worst units I've ever had to fight in a game. There is one unit, completely armored in concrete, with a minigun, and 360 GG 1v1 me newb quickscope sniper skills. This ************ will snipe you from insane distances. The only downside is they cannot jump. Not only do they deal and take massive damage, you have to go up to them to finish them off. No ranged finishes.

Other than that, fuck Cazadores from New Vegas, the satanic bastard who put in their poison working every time is a bastard. Most recently, I'll add Rhinos from Far Cry 4. It took three grenades, hitting it with a truck, three arrows, and two mags of ammo to bring one of the bastards down.
