Most fucked up dream you've ever had?

The dream wasn't fucked up at all. I helped my father with some repairs on the car, then went to the local shop to buy some stuff, came home, dream ends.
Then I wake up, numb as a carpet... and suddenly the realisation hits me: my dad has been dead for quite some time.

As for nightmares, they're the classic ones, when stuff seems normal, but you got that maddening notion in the back of your head, that the monster could lunge at you any second. And hey! I got a nice collection of monsters that killed me in nightmares: mauled by giant black dog, mauled by giant rabid (kinda zombie-ish) bear, chomped by T-Rex, mauled by huge rabid monkey, stabbed in the gut by some random dude.

Edit: ooh, I just remembered another one: I'm sitting in a car with somebody (he/she is driving), then we speed up and crash straight into the wall of a building. The scary part, was that after I got crashed into the building, it was all black, and I didn't wake up immediately ):

My freakiest dream... err... to be honest I don't really like to say as it was genuinely traumatic and kept me up for weeks for fear of having a similarly horrific dream. Needless to say it was not pleasent and the horrid thing is that I can still visulise it very clearly (a mark of a traumatic dream apparently).

My sympathy to guys who have posted here today who've had really bad dreams, you have my sympathy guys.

I'm in an assylum, with little sisters. People try to kill me and the halls are covered in blood.. Or how about the one where I wake up try to run for help, fall down and can't scream due to sleep paralysis? OH OH, what about the one where I sleep with a close friend tha I don;t like that way IRL? I think I can top that one with the demon hands grabbing me and getting lost in the stock room of a best buy, which I had flown onto the roof by personal helicopter. Or the recurring dream where I get the feeling I had my soul ripped out and wake up screaming because it actually hurts. I want them to stop.
Especially my sympathy to you mate, that must be a horrid thing to go through. I hope things get better.

I have plenty of dreams most people would consider rather fucked up, but for me they're rather par for the course when I drift into my nightly cycle of unconsciousness. Whenever the topic of dreams comes around with my friends and we begin to share them with each other more often than not I'm told my dreams are utter nightmares, one man's nightmare is another man's epic adventure though.

In my dreams I've gone up against things that would cause many a person to awake screaming and in a cold sweat, such as zombies, Freddy Kruger, and evil of indeterminate form etc etc. If you can think of it odds are I've had to deal with it. Why don't these dreams bother me? It's because over the 20 some odd years I've been alive I've managed a cursory grasp on controlling my dreams. It only extends to the point of being able to summon a means for fighting back (weapon of choice is always a keyblade or fireballs) or forcing myself awake mind you, but it certainly has made for some seriously epic dreams where I wake up in the morning going "awww....it's over?"

Now when my dreams do get scary, holy crap are they scary. Imagine the most terrifying and inescapable situation you can think of and magnify that by 10. Got it, good. By a very large maragin the most terrifying dream I've ever had is one that occurred a few years ago.

It began in the waiting room of a hospital, I was there because there had been some kind of accident and my mother had been gravely injured. The doctor comes out and informs me that she has died, grief ensues(this is rather run of the mill). He then tells me that although she has died they've managed to bring her back into the now decaying body.(don't ask how they just did) In order to prevent further decaying she must have a constant supply of embalming fluid pumped through her system via a tube attached at the base of her neck. Of course I'm absolutely mortified by this, but for some reason am unable to voice my objections to it. The dream then flashes forward to a few hours later with us driving in the car, her at the wheel and I in the passenger's seat. She's saying something about how there's no need to be concerned as she's only going to continue the treatment until her affairs have been put in order for a funeral. Suddenly she begins to rapidly decay at the wheel, her hair begins to fall out, her skin melting away...and she begins to reach for me seeking help. All I can do is look on in silent horror as my mother literally decays in front of my eyes. The tube attached to her neck had come loose and was no longer pumping fluid. At that moment my grandmother (who was apparently sitting in the back seat) reattaches the tube and the decaying process reverses itself.

I woke up shortly after shaken to my core, literally I was shaking and in a state of shock. For three days after that I couldn't go near my mother let alone look at her because the image of her decaying form would rocket to the forefront of my memory. Even after that when I'd hug her I couldn't help but feel her skin was far to loose on her bones for comfort. It was the most terrifying experience of my life, and something I won't soon forget.

Me and two friends who happen to be girls had to cook something, all we had was potatoes and coleslaw, Thats all I remember. Or the one where I am my friends went into a battle royalesque deathmatch with each other, for some reason I had an M16 with a big scope and it was set to semi auto, games appear to be right; M16 is superior to other guns

Last night I had a dream that I was accepted into a university in BC that I hadn't applied for and then there was a zombie apocalypse. These Zombies were allergic to light so my dad drove me to BC. When I was there all the professors had turned into Zombies and vampire zombies so I went and got a shotgun that shoots meteors... I would sit through a lecture that made no sense and then shoot someone. Then the Sun invented a cure so they sent my little brother to go get it. While he was travelling to Nevada I went into a castle and turned on all the lights... Then I woke up.
I love it when that happens

I dreamed I was in an airport and an aeroplane lost control on landing and crashed through the lounge. I was running away movie style with a plane crashing through the terminal after me... the fucked up part was that this was a day before the Paris air crash...

Note: I'm not into superstition/astrology/karma etc... it was just a weird coincidence.

I had a dream where I was in my school's gym. It was full of people I don't know, hate, and/or can't stand. I had an M240 with a 200 round belt, and an AK-47, along with some hand grenades.

What's 2+2?
You might need some help, man.

When you wake up after dreaming, you forget 90% of your dream within ten minutes.
What I find sort of funny is that alluding to suppressed mental instability is actually seen as cool in society today.
It's quite possible to retain memory of the majority of your dream (or long sections of it) by concentrating on them the instant you wake up. Do not write them down immediately, do not do anything but think about what your brain just produced. Go through the sequences in cause-effect/stream of consciousness-order. This is what works best for me.

It takes conscious effort to recall the dream. Without it, you will forget.
Doing any other cognitive action (such as writing) tends to shorten my ability to recall the dream in detail.

That's all from my observations though; take that for what you will.

As for the "disturbing dream = I'm psycho = I'm cool" nonsense. Yeah. It's annoying.
But at the same time, is it correct to even try to claim we're "psycho"?
Nah. We're just human. Our brain is quite capable of surreal, disturbing imagery, and especially so when we are under stress.
We can dream about seemingly anything on a whim; the fact that we are sometimes appalled by what our brain produces only goes to show how little we actually understand ourselves.

You may forget 90% of your dreams but you still have the capacity to tell the 10% and if it deeply disturbed you/you wrote it down right away you can remember 50%+.

Creepy dreams are a fact of most peoples lives. It seems the "omg I'm totally messed up lol" is the same thing as "omg I am so random lol" and other such things. Meaning they are totally useless but meant as something lighthearted and fun. Troll them if you will but don't expect to have many friends if you can't overlook things like that.

Lastly its not suppressed mental instability that is seen as cool, its uniqueness. Its the sort of self-deprecating humor that is not serious.
I agree with most of that, and that is a good perspective to take with the whole "creepy dreams = psycho" bit.
In fact, some of my most surreal dreams to be a good source for stories and plots.
Alas, if only I were competent at writing fiction.

I had this really freaky dream the other night...

I went to hang out with a friend of a friend, and things went badly. I left, and he followed me back to my boyfriend's place; for some reason, the back door was open. I pulled it shut, and thought the guy was just going to leave. He barged in, shoved me down on my boyfriend's bed, pulled away my jeans, and poured soda on me. Then he leaned down, told me not to even dare to clean up because he wanted whoever came in to find me just like that, and left.

I woke up in full panic attack mode because as the dream ended, I could hear someone opening the front door of the apartment while I lay there, sticky and frightened.

I have many of those, the downside is that I almost never remember them after waking up.
Luckily I can remember at least one:

I was standing in a forest, it was autumn (brown/orange leaves on the ground and trees). I looked around when suddenly, ANTS! They started to attack me and the only way I could think of to avoid them was by jumping and making salto's. You know, like you see in gymnastics. And not just one, I kept going on forever. After the ants I did some stuff... while jumping and saltoing.

At least it was not a nightmare :<

I had a doozey of a dream yesterday.

I was shooting it out in a night-time trench warfare battle. Snipers were everywhere, and I was telling my female companion to stay put and keep her head down. I head off with an uzi and start kicking ass. Only problem is that I bump into another friendly squad. We all start shooting the shooting he shit out of each other, like we were in a multiplayer game and the friendly fire had just been activated for fun.

I become a wounded veteran, and have to sit in on school visits given to children about how to act during the war. Winston Churchill came in and conducted a slideshow. He was originally supposed to be talking about how children should not talk about their commando father's exploits in public or keep newspaper clippings pinned up etc. as that might expose the soldier's identity to enemy spies. Unfortunately, as he is talking the slide show starts showing 1930s style pornographic slides of teenage girls. Churchill does his best to cover up the images of masturbation and lesbian scenes until the slideshow is over. He starts babbling elementary physics to distract the kids. The teacher is not amused:
Churchill: and err...ignore the slides children! Did you know that mass times speed equals force?
teacher: Mr Churchill?
Churchill:...and I err-
teacher: -Mr Churchill!
Churchill: look, I'm terribly sorry about the images. I really am, it won't happen again.
teacher: Also you got that wrong. mass times speed equals momentum.
Churchill: Oh.

last night I dreamed I had a ruptured testicle, it was so painful I couldn't move out of bed, I thought I passed out from the pain, but when I woke up I layed there for a minute like 'ohgodohgodohgodohgod' then moved and was like 'yeee ha'

fell out of bed, and ruptured my testicle. Only joking, but I would have laughed through that pain.

I dunno if this count's a 'dream' but I was asleep once and I had this really strange feeling as if someone's head was like right next to mine (on my right hand side) and it got to the point where I actually woke up with a start because it felt like someone was staring at me :(

Other than that I haven't really had any dreams lately
