Team Fortress 2, definitively. A week in which I don't see something outrageous happen in TF2 and think to myself that's why I love that game is a week in which I just didn't play much TF2 at all.

My vote goes to Bulletstorm, the most fun I've ever had with a FPS.
This x1000. I played that entire game with a big, goofy grin on my face.
same goes for me. Bulletstorm is just THE best and awesomest shooter i've ever played.
The epitome of fun.

well, i see Vanquish as an action game with guns(bayonetta had guns too, and dante) so i'll let bulletstorm win my vote on this one.

I've only played 2 hour of it but i love the feel of the combat in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine.
Especially the jump pack. Aside form that definitely TF2. Sticky Jumper is the most fun i have ever had as demoman

Bulletstorm. I really should pick this up again. Never should have sold it.

Battlefield tbh. But as you're gonna go all hating on my ass for enjoying a mainstream online FPS, the mindless shooter I had quite a bit of fun with was Bulletstorm.

Call of Duty: World at War.

The campaign and multiplayer could get quite gruelling (which i enjoyed) but the Zombies mode is the most fun i've had with a first person shooter. Especially on the Der Riese and Shi No Numa DLC maps.
Ohhhh man did I love this game.
I never owned it, but whenever I borrowed it or rented it, my dad and I would play so much co-op zombies.
I'd actually kind of like to get Black Ops because it's by the same team.
Don't bother it's nothing, NOTHING like it. WaW is firmly in my top ten games ever. I bought black Ops on the same premise but no, probably the worst game I have played for many years. Single playerw was above average but nothing amazing and the online (Including zombies) is a poor shadow of what I expected.

Just buy WaW :D

Halo 3. Although it was technically the first FPS I ever owned so there may be quite a bit of bias behind that. Also the forge mode easily doubled the entertainment value for me.

Team Fortress 2.

Better plot than Twilight even though it has no plot.

Better characters than hunky space marine characters.

More team based gameplay because you are forced into a super-specialized role instead of everyone being the assault rifle general soldier.

I really like Killzone 2. I credit it as being the game that got me thinking this whole regenerative health thing might not be so bad after all. A time after finishing it I went back and replayed CoD4. Whereas before I found a frustrating game that was the epitome of why I don't like regenerative health I now found a really damn fun fps. Wierd how my opinion did a 180 like that. For a final note there?s also Fear. Largely the reason why I like it is for the immersion but it?s no slouch as an FPS. Those are my three nominations, not sure which I?d pick as the winner. They?re all very good games.

Resistance: Fall of Man.

Because it's really like an old school shooter. You can carry an unrealistic number of guns, your enemies soak up damage, aiming down sights is not 100% necessary, it's got semi-boss characters (you know, the big guys who aren't actually bosses but are still pretty tough), a non regenerating health bar, tons of enemies at once, and a general style that feels more like quake, doom, or wolfenstein than call of duty.

And a graphics that prove that dull brown and gray can make an excellent art style.
